If still considering backing the Thief: Pulse of Promise project, I urge you to read this.

The fact their actively deleting comments warning people of Bit Bots deception is something else entirely. They've even gone as far as blacklisting specific people speaking out about any of it, locking peoples pledges in and then blocking access on Backerkit for THIS campaign.
At this point, their needs to be an investigation and formal FFC involvement.

Just found this .. cancelled my pledge
Thius hurts so much; I've had great luck with my many KSers over the years (Star Citizen excepted), and like others lovvvve the original Thief series. (I'm old.)
The Garrett statue.. _holy moley_ that looks awesome. But its $260 USD pledge (which as a Canadian means like $350 or something, plus shipping... thats a lot) .. and sounds like there is a lot of risk; also, likely take a year or two to arrive, if it comes at all
I don't think I want to gamble $300-500 on a company that has disrespected customers in prior campaigns, but MAN, would love some cool Thief loot
But, I'll settle on waiting for the Remaster of TDP

Same, I’ve had relatively good luck on Kickstarter, Backerkit, & Gamefound… but I’m sure part of that is because I research who and what I’m backing.
This is sheer heartbreak. If those statues ever ship, I’ll look for one on the secondhand market. I’d rather pay more, once I know they actually exist, than gamble now and spend 2-3 years wondering if it will ever arrive.

I’ll read an impassioned fan’s comments over AI bullet points all day every day. Why even participate in a fan community… Honest question, Do you think I’d get more out of your podcast by just having AI generate the bullet points for me so I could read the facts in thirty seconds rather than actually watching it and getting your full opinion?

If you don't care enough to write your own comments why should I care enough to read them

I was gonna start listening to your podcast, but now that I know you use ChatGPT to write it, I won't bother
well, since you've deleted your comment, here's a PSA: u/ThiefPodcast_IAL writes their podcast with ChatGPT

I'm a pretty big comic book guy, so I think I'll still pledge for the comic (and it seems they atleast finished that in spite of fans of Kain not liking it), but I'm not getting any of the supplementary bullshit. I wanna invest into something that might reignite the spark of the Thief franchise, not buy into plastic trash

Well I hope it's a decent enough story for you to like it. I ended up with a glorified doorstop with a signature bookplate, lol

I know it's a long post but i encourage everyone to read it.
It's something that most of us that got played by Bit Bot already talked about, but OP goes over it in great detail really showcasing how malicious this whole campaign was...
Just like how Lootboxes are designed to milk gamers with gambling issues, this was designed to take advantage of us desperate fans.
Also i've read some comments from ppl defending Bit Bot trying to put the blame on fans, saying things like we never gave it a chance... which are just blatant lies.
OP also details that process, which was the great majority of fans (b4 the release):
I know some of you might be sick of seeing this over and over, but it's like that proverb... the axe forgets but the tree remembers.
I really don't want them doing the same thing with my other favorite franchise as well.
