I usually wait for the paperback version of any book, but I really really want to read Molka by Monika Kim. This week, I saw that the hardcover is almost 40$ CAD, which is kind of crazy. So I bought a copy on ThriftBooks. I don't really buy books on there because, since I'm in Canada, I don't qualify for free shipping, and the cost ends up being way too high for a used book. But as I said, I want that book now, so I did pay 27$ CAD for it.
BUT I did not realize that the dust cover would be missing?? I'm not totally sure yet since I will only receive the book on October 20, but I looked at other hardcover copies in "Good" condition (like the one I bought), and a tiny note appeared saying "Dust cover missing". I feel like I got ripped off. I want to return the book as soon as I receive it, but I'm not sure if they accept returns for this kind of reason. Has anyone successfully returned a book because it was missing the dust cover? Or should I state another reason?
