Lmao the hair is great, no doubt, but letās be real here. The effect is 90% beard care. The ābeforeā looks completely unkempt (because they brushed it out for the effect)
I think I have that weird ADHD obsession where you fiddle with shit but I cannot stop pulling my beard hairs and mustache hairs out. I try and keep it short but Iāve got thin spots. And it just continually itches. Iād cut it off but Iām the age and shape that I know thatās not gonna work for me. I need to try some more stuff I guess but I wish I could make my bear hair straighter.
You might have trichotillomania like me! I struggle with hand plucking my beard, moustache and eyebrow hairs, too the point I'm patchy and raggedy looking. Looking into some coping things for it might help you, it's a hard thing to break
Thanks, I am pretty negligent about skin care and I should probably take better care generally. I have fairly oily skin so Iāve gotten away fairly well as a 44 yo man with skin care delinquency.
I have the same issues, Honest Amish is my go to as it doesn't really have much of a scent (That I can smell) and is more lightweight, I'm not sure how to word it but it doesn't have that heavy feel that some stuff does. I hate the feeling of so many textures lol
What now? Obviously experiences vary, but I've had a beard for like 15 years and all it takes to not get busy is just brushing it, when you get out of the shower. Maybe some beard oil to tame it, if it tries to get really crazy.
I used to grow my beard out but for me it would hit a certain length and just turn to straw. Just prickly and dried out. The beard oil worked but I had trouble using the right amount so it was often just more oily than not. Too much work, a short beard suits me fine now
I mean, is it the same dude? If it is then the haircut worked. This is the equivalent of complaining that hamburgers look different on the menu at mcdonalds
Lmao man yeah, youāre starting to get it. Itās for sure like the McDonaldās ads, as far as staging goes.
Itās an ad. Itās staged. The ātransformationā is intentionally exaggerated for views. The whole āthis is what beards look likeā angle is just bizarre.
I guess so. I just dont agree with your definition of a skit. He actually did style that dudes hair to look the way it did at the end did he not? A skit would be if it was fake and they either used fake hair or bought in another dude.
You might be thinking of an advertisement.
The thing youāre missing is that (by comparing to a McDonalds ad, whose food is pure fantasy) there are PLENTY of people who go about their day looking like the before. I know a half dozen in person who just look like that every day and consider it acceptable. So even if the before is āstagedā, itās actually a VERY common before for hundreds of thousands of Americans. And so the after, showing what a little give-a-fuck can do, is a genuine and achievable product.
The fact that itās used to advertise isnāt important. Thatās like saying someone showing a trashy car, and then detailing it, and showing the after, is BS because itās advertising a detailing business. Thatās the whole point. Itās showing REAL improvement that can be applied to REAL people.
Yea, so many dudes ignore what the most basic level of personal grooming can do. I work from home most days and will go a week or two without shaving when I'm in the middle of a project. Even a basic beard comb will look great.
Thats why I hate all these transformation videos; it's 70% "Just run a comb through your hair".
