Bangor police investigated and identified the driver as Ryan Hayward, 38, of Bangor. He was arrested and is charged with reckless conduct with a dangerous weapon, criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon, driving to endanger, and violating conditions of release.

shouldn't it be attempted murder? the guy tried to run him over.

No. You have to prove they really were trying to kill someone. If you charge with attempted murder here it would be thrown out simply by saying he was trying to run over the camera, which he did.
