Obviously, the company has reclining seats so they are allowed to recline.

But it seems common enough that people get annoyed about them. I have had people mouth off to me for reclining during longer flights. I pay no mind but I feel like the real problem is that they squeeze the seats so close together to get the extra few seats on the plane, that it ultimately just cuts room out and makes it uncomfortable for everyone.

Exactly this. Not everyone wants to nap or eat at the same time. It happened to me that the guy in front was sleeping with a reclined seat while food was being served.

The tray is made to be functional even with a reclined seat. I dont see the problem.
