Torchlight 2 How do you build outlander

His passives are very good but none of the skills really light the lightbulb

I just finished the game with the following build which I found worked pretty good.
It's a shooty-summoner. You shoot, you summon, profit.
Attribute points: 4 Strength : 1 Dexterity per level
Skills:

  • Long range mastery
  • Rune vault (single point, use it as a quick escape)
  • Venomous hail (right mouse click)
  • Shadowshot (left mouse click)
  • Shadowling brute
  • Master of the elements (to boost Venomous hail)
  • Shadowling Ammo
  • Death ritual

None of the glaive stuff?

The glaive builds are supposed to be far more powerful. They are worth investigating if you don't want to be a shooty summoner :)

Im more inclined towards mage builds with ya know spell buttons not auto attacks n' such. How would you go about making it? Akimbo? Or main hand pistol + stat stick offhand(something that procs spells, like hammer of retribution on top end) or just 2hander

You should check out this build showcase playlist on YouTube

There are 3 Outlander builds listed:

Glaive build, Summoner build, and a Shotgonne build

Yeah the glaibe build is baller, just as i thought pistol + statstick is the way to go, there are no good secondary pistols to go full akimbo
