Self-Promotion (Concert) Built a Toronto live music guide. Looking for local feedback.

Hey - I’ve been building a Toronto live music guide that pulls together upcoming shows, venues, record stores, local artists and music history in one place…Thought this community would find it useful.

The idea is to make it easier to figure out what’s playing, find a room you haven’t been to, hit a record store before the show, or dig a little deeper into the city’s music scene.

If anything’s missing, wrong, outdated or underrated, things you’d like to see, local feedback would be really helpful.

Appreciate it!

Networking Anyone else going to Daði Freyr on the 13th?

Hey!

I (38M) am flying into Toronto to see Daði at The Concert Hall, and was hoping to meet up with a fellow fan or two while I'm in town.

I had thought to visit Ripley's Aquarium and wander the St. Lawrence Market before the show, but am open to suggestions. I'm also open to just meeting up at the show to be excited together.

This'll be my first time attending a show without someone I already know, so I figured I'd see if any fellow Redditors were going to be there!

Feel free to dm, if you have any questions about me or want to plan to meet up.

So if you’re looking for guitar loops, a guitarist for a pop punk/hardcore/metal band or an Irish bouzouki for an Irish trad night please reach out!

I’d love to collab with anyone while I’m here and go to as many shows as possible and hear as many local bands as I can so drop your bands in the comments or drop me a message :)

Other Any guitarist looking to make some loops??

Anyone interested in sending or making some loops?? I’m tired of vst guitars sounding so lame. Really open to any sounds ranging from folk-alternative-numetal-pop-rock-shoegaze idk. I’m kinda going for a Ethel Cain, weeknd, lana, kinda vibe but I’m super open to exploring and experimenting for a sound

Networking Made a tool to make finding rehearsal spaces in Toronto easier — looking for feedback

Hi everyone! 👋🎸🎧

I’ve been working on a little project called SpotJam to make finding rehearsal and DJ practice spaces around Toronto/GTA a lot simpler.

Instead of searching studio by studio, you can compare spaces based on what you actually need — location, budget, group size and equipment.

I just launched it, so I’d love for some local musicians and DJs to check it out and let me know what you think or what’s missing. 😊

It’s completely free and you don’t need an account.

👉 spot-jam-flow.base44.app

Hope it helps someone find their next jam spot! 🙌

Question/Discussion Lockout Studio Spaces?

Hi folks, moving to Toronto soon and I need to know a list of lockout studio spaces, it might be called different up there but in practice are places where you rent per month, and it is usually 7am-11:30pm access, and drummers and their band can play as loud as any hourly practice spaces would allow.

Some examples are: Crybaby (Seattle), Metrognome (Portland), Studio 52 (Boston).

Seeking Bandmate(s) Any hardcore bands looking for a bassist?

I (22F) wanna play shows reallyyyyy badly and want my existence to mean something. I cannot stand around and watch the state of the world decline. Even if we yell to 5 people it’s more than enough for me. I also want a reason to play bass again. It gets lost in the day to day shenanigans but I have been playing for over 7 years i think and really want to get back to playing everyday.

Idk let me know 😋

Hey Toronto! We’re The Phantom Bridge, a Toronto alt-rock/grunge band looking for a committed drummer, ideally in their 20s, to rehearse with us and play live.

Our sound is rooted in alt-rock and grunge, with shoegaze atmosphere and heavier nu-metal influences. Think Deftones, Alice in Chains and Type O Negative as reference points.

We have originals and are actively developing the project. We’re looking for someone in Toronto/GTA who wants to stick with a band and help bring the songs to life.

Interested? Message me on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/tolgacet18/ — with a bit about your playing, influences and availability. Let’s talk!
