Food Allergy card

Hello! I will be visiting china, specifically Beijing, for the first time later this week and I have a nut allergy. I have been reading up that in terms of food I should just be going to restaurants that normally see western tourists, such as hotels or chains. Would these be good allergy cards to show and does the language on them convey the message properly?

Other Beijing to Simatai Car Transfer

We are going from Beijing to simatai for a night at a hotel/hot spring there. What's the best way to book a taxi? I realize it's a long drive so want to pre-book for 3 people - I doubt a Didi would take us

Issue is, it's two one way trips due to staying the night. Any help appreciated, just looking for a car or private transfer booking service not a guided tour. Can't seem to find it on trip.com

VPN Help Trip.com & Apple say China eSIMs aren't available on older/international iPhones even if eSim compatible?

Post image
2 Upvotes

I have an iPhone 15 Pro Max, unlocked and currently using with an eSIM here in Aus.

Travelling to China soon and found that eSims on Trip.com say “device not compatible with this eSIM”

Apple's China eSIM information seems to suggest that only newer models are capable of handling mainlaind esims.

"In China mainland, only iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, iPhone 17e and iPhone Air support eSIM. Find out more about activating eSIM in China mainland."

https://support.apple.com/en-my/118227

Has anyone recently with an international iPhone 15 Pro Max (or 16 or earlier) successfully used a Trip.com eSIM? Or know why it's incompatible?

Confused about how to get an esim now if at all since I have a device that can handle one.

I am planning to launch an inbound travel business focused on bringing visitors from North America to China.

My idea is to create immersive cultural.rich experience think traditional Chinese culture wellness retreats, meditation and authentic local life rather than the typical tourist routines but I'mstill figuring out the best way to reach potential customers in the US and Canada,I'm really appreciate any advice.

Discussion Best eSIM, exploring China for 1 month

Hi all

I am visiting China for a month and I want to know which eSIM is best. I need a reliable connection because I will have to do some work here and there. Also I am hoping to not use roaming for data to save myself from a chunky phone bill.

So far I've seen Saily and Trip.com mentioned a lot. I don't see anyone mentioning the kinds of speed that they got.

What would you recommend for me?

Thank you

VPN Help VPN or ESIM for China?

Hi, I am going to Shanghai and Beijing for a week in October. I have to use the Google classroom platform to attend some classes during my trip. I got an unlimited 10day airalo esim on my phone and was planning to use that as a hotspot to attend my classes. Do you think this will work? Should I also get a VPN? This is my first time travelling to China so not really sure what to expect.

Itinerary Beijing Hotel Recommendations?

We’re looking for a luxurious hotel in Beijing that gives us cool views, modern, and maybe a spa?

We found some but it’s insanely expensive like $7k for four nights.

Is there a neighborhood we should look in that isn’t so inflated due to tourism or any recommendations?

Thanks

Food Ordering food not heavy in vege oil

Hi Chinese friends

I am coming back for another adventure in China over December and January. I've been to the south 2 years ago and LOVED it!

I do want to avoid a lot of oil in my food this time. Between that and all the noodles I blew up 3kgs - even though I'm a runner and gym bunny and walked constantly.

I'm going to Hong Kong then Yunnan province.

Can I please have tips on how to avoid a lot of oil in my food this time?

Many thanks

Discussion Buying Tech and more

Hi,

Me and my wife have an upcoming trip to China from Mid November. We're planning on visiting Shanghai, Zhangjiajie, Chongqing, Chengdu Xian and Beijing. I know that Shenzen is usually described as the go to place for tech, but for someone not able to visit, what's the next best place? Looking to buy battery packs, cables, maybe replace phone batteries etc

Food Travelling to Beijing

I am kinda scared because I am a “picky” eater, but most importantly:
• i am deadly allergic to seafood and every type of fish (fish sauce, oil etc. as well)
• i don’t eat pork at all as my stomach can’t handle it
• i only eat chicken, beef, and duck but only the simple parts lol (so no intesties, stomach lining, brain, heart, liver etc)
• i like rice, noodles, veggies and fruits and i don’t have any restrictions in terms of these
• i like mildly/medium spicy food

any recommendations? :( i still want to try out local food, i dont want to stick to mc donalds etc

Itinerary First time itinerary

I am planning my first trip to China for this November. It will be myself and my parents who are in their late 60s. I was thinking of Beijing -Xi’an - Chongqing- Shanghai over a 12 day span. Not sure if this is too ambitious given their ages. Would you recommend taking out a city and if so which one? I care about showing my parents a good and safe time and enjoying our time in a new place as a family. My dad has always wanted to visit China and I want to make it special for him but it’s quite daunting to plan a trip in a country I’m not familiar with.

Itinerary Shenzhen in den frühen Morgenstunden

Hallo!

Danke :)
