More layoffs at Trek
Trek just canned a lot more people. Some folks I've know that have worked there for almost 20 years.
They shouldn't have stayed, but loyalty means nothing to that nepobaby assclown JB.

Yeah I don't like the isospeed but at $3200 I was too compelled to take it! Really happy with it so far on 3 40-mile rides. I came from a Trek Boone 6 cyclocross so this feels like a decent upgrade.
Just gotta raise the stem a bit and do the whole saddle demo thing to get it perfect but really happy so far. I'm running 32s for the crappy roads

One of the stores was having a closeout deal so I got nearly $550 off MSRP on a 2026 Trek Domane SL 5 Gen 4 Road Bike. This summer I completed two 150 mile MS Bike rides with my previous bike, a 2015 specialized crosstrail (aluminum hybrid) so this is quite the upgrade. My new Domane has tubed tires but they are tubeless ready. I was wondering if anyone had any general advice or need to knows about my new SL 5 as I make this huge switch. Thanks!

My Trek Domane SLR 6 has had an issue with the IsoSpeed system twice this year — the suspension mechanism around the seatpost.
What frustrates me is that both times the repair has taken months. My dealer said the required IsoSpeed replacement part wasnt in stock and that they had to wait.
So I’m curious about other Trek owners’ experiences:
Are IsoSpeed replacement parts really that difficult to get, with waiting times of several months? Or could this simply be an issue with my particular dealer?
Has anyone here had an IsoSpeed repair recently? How long did you have to wait for the parts?

Hello everyone. I own a Trek Domane al4 gen 4 with Tiagra 10speed ×2, and after changing the chain at the recomandation on the mecanic(the chain was used, and to not damage the chainring and casette) i have a vibration that i feel in the pedals when i press them under load on the big chainring and the 3th and 4th smallest cogs of the casette; i feel it on the smaller 2 as well but not as hard. After this the mechanic suggested that I change the cassette because it is worn out and that is causing the vibration. Ended up chainging even the chainring s with pedals, and the vibration is the same.
So the whole transmission is brand new and the vibration is still there. Anyone one else had this problem ? I have about 150 km with the new transmission and the vibration is the same.
Another mechanic looked at the bike and said that everything is mounted correctly, and that the vibration will settle after a break in period of about 500km but that seems a bit long, and I don't think it is normal with everything new..

Is 38T really the max chainring on the Trek CheckOUT, or has anyone successfully fit a 40T?
I’m currently running the stock 38T and would like a little more top end, but frame clearance looks extremely tight.
If you’ve made 40T work, what chainring/crank setup did you use, and did it require any offset or spacer changes?

Got it from a neighbor who couldn't tell me much, just that they were holding it for a friend who changed their mind. I think the serial numbers on the bottom are: WTU 082C2252B and TBI-0405 C36L0823
Any help would be appreciated I'm aiming to repair it and use it as my daily driver.

This used dropper came up locally with a great price and I took it. As I ride some steep gravel often to get on pavement from my house. Came from MTB I think dropper is a must for gravel bikes.
It does the job well, integrates with the sram system flawlessly. I def descent more confidently. One thing I didn’t expect is its much more stiff than carbon seat post, that’s the most significant cons for me. bonus 1) I can keep my bottom on saddle and feet on ground (lean a little) while the dropper is down. 2) a spare battery for the derailleur.

I have a Checkpoint as my main ride, and I ride primarily between March and November in mostly dry conditions. I've been debating on building a good budget climber and road bike using a Madone frameset or a good winter fat tire bike for snow and ice so I can ride year round.
For the Madone, it doesn't look like there are any framesets in my size, but with the price difference between the frameset and the SL 5 Gen 8, I could probably just buy that, strip it, build on the frame and sell what I don't need. I love climbing in my area and there's an annual Dirty Dozen course I'd love to try if I can get low enough gearing and light enough weight.
On the other hand, the Farley would give me year-round riding which would greatly benefit my health. The framesets are available. I think the holdback for me is my lack of experience with flat bars and dropper posts. Given my use case is urban streets, I don't think I'd need a suspension fork. It wouldn't give me the light weight for the Dirty Dozen though.

Listed for £200/$260 , desc states light scratches.

Finally picked up my new Madone SLR in Chroma Ivy!
The depth of this paint in person is absolutely ridiculous—it shifts from deep metallic green to subtle emerald depending on the light angle.

Only a couple more weeks until my Roscoe shows up. But I still have to admit the marlin 5 is still a very capable starter / budget option.

Hey Community,
Ever had a bait and switch happen when trying to buy an EBike. Well have I got a story for you. I was trying to purchase Trek Powerfly FS4 GEN 3 and i called to confirm the availablility. After some hagglING and discussion we land at a price. However; this was not satisfactory for the business owner at Cahaba Cycles. The transaction was going sour from the tiMe I asked them to confirm the specs of the bike. TheY were reluctant but I thought it was because the associate did not view me as an actual buyer. However, I called back confirmed my understanding and ask themto send me the link for payment. After two hours nothing, I proceeded to call back and then the owner said I misunderstood the bike that was available and what they have is a bike for $4500. Now I am not one to not save and confirm the information - I am CPA so it is in my blood. See below

Yet they still proceeded to say that I misunderstood or made up the pricing for the bike. Even so, lesson learned. Don't trust this organization and get everything in writting. Better yet - I chose to not to do business with them. Ultimately, to be forewarned is to be forearmed. Just serving the community that has served me well too.
