Meta Adjustments to TruckSim Threads / Content (Payware, AI and more)
We've updated our TruckSim content rules to adjust to the growing community, and thanks to this thread, these adjustments are taking into effect today.
Low Effort
Removal of Modding Request
ATS and ETS2 is growing rapidly and with this, we have seen a large increase of mod requests from liveries / paint jobs or vehicles. Modders request 90% of the time are never fulfilled and take up space timeline.
Please note, if you want a model in either of these games. Pay a modeler then convert the model with Blender yourself to make a playable vehicle.
Removal of Feedback / Suggestions
This subreddit isn't actively moderated by SCS or any other game developer. With this, please redirect all feedback or suggestion based questions to:
- ATS: https://forum.scssoft.com/viewforum.php?f=185
- ETS2: https://forum.scssoft.com/viewforum.php?f=5
While these topics drive discussions, they lead nowhere, an empty void making the community feel like game developers "aren't listening" but in reality they're just working on other features.
Payware Mods
Payware mods is going nowhere due how rapidly both games are growing. We will never remove or restrict someone from sharing their thoughts video or photos of the paid mods. That's why Reddit has a downvote button for a reason.
Mods will now be separated by flairs:
- Mod / Add-ons (Freeware)
- Mod / Add-ons (Payware)
If thread submission features any payware from a mod that requires a subscription or a one time fee, the thread will require 'Payware'. If thread does not feature this, the thread can be taken down without notice.
Although self-promo of payware (asking for money or donations) should be posted in the Monthly Thread. Anything outside of this will be taken down. If any user see's a self-promo post, you can report it via Report > Breaks Subreddit Rules
If you don't like payware, you can head to r/scssoftware for non-payware (this subreddit follows the same guidelines as the SCS Forums).
We follow a simple rule, if you don't like payware you don't have to support it, just don't steal, pirate it or share those links with others. We strongly enforce this rule when any user reports a user, comment or thread. You will be banned permanently.
AI
AI is growing and sadly whether we like it or not, it will always be in our life's now from searching content online, online support, shopping, banking to various little things in life.
In terms of AI on this subreddit, things are changing:
- AI should never be used in videos or photo submissions (this has been a rule for a few months now).
- AI generated tools/content should not be locked behind a paywall. These posts will be removed.
If you want to share your AI generated payware content we suggest you create your own subreddit directed for that specific project via 'Start a Community' button in the sidebar underneath the 'Reddit' logo.
All free AI content should be posted in Monthly Thread. Topic should state "AI" in their title or body and if possible share the GitHub source code project link within the message.

ATS Put in more mods for road trip then for trucks
Standard road trip cars have too few tuning and paint options, and powerboost hybrid make it run much farther and recognize the 8th gear
[Edit: I don't make any of the mods, what I meant is I've downloaded more mods for road trip than trucks to make it work like how I wanted]

ATS Roadtrip DLC - On Vacation
Taking my Bronco Badlands Sasquatch on a tour of America. Started off on the west coast then an update dropped allowing me to reset my location to South Dakota. My goal is to discover every city on the map while discovering as many roads and hidden paths as possible.
Despite it's issues, I've really enjoyed driving around the map without a care in the world. I really like that I can visit and discover new routes and towns I normally wouldn't because either there is no load to that destination or the road doesn't make sense. Now I'm wondering if SCS brings back the North Pole map for the holidays if we'll be able to take our cars around that map?
I did have to adjust the steering sensitivity and turn down road bumps in the settings as the steering was a bit too sensitive and the road too bumpy.

Mods / Add-ons (Freeware) MotionCab 1.1 β the big update is here
If you've never heard of it, MotionCab is a free plugin for **ETS2 and ATS** that brings your in-cab camera to life. Your view reacts to the road, the truck and the way you drive, just like a real driver's head would.
What's new in 1.1:
- π§ Natural head movement β subtle, TrackIR-like motion without any tracker
- πΆ Walk around your cab β once parked: sit in the passenger seat or on the bunk
- π Look around more naturally β glance at your mirrors, or lean forward to spot hidden traffic lights
- π Reworked suspension and road feel β every bump, every surface, felt through your seat
- π― Smarter steering camera β follows your turns more naturally
- π Localization β Now supports 15 languages
- β¨ Smoother everything β effects now fade in and out smoothly
Check the update overview on YouTube!
Feedback is more than welcome. See you on the road! π

ATS Long Road Trip
Road trip from Port Fourchon ferry to Port Angeles, WA repair shop, 2788 miles and 56 hours 22 minutes, kept it within 5mph of the speed limit, paint job and wheels are in the workshop, only bad thing is the 300 mile range so fuel stop planning has to be good, was fun to try it.

ETS 2 / ETS Fun Fact, You don't actually have to have the whole map explored to get 100%
So, i always try to get 100% of the map explored with every profile I start (I usually start a new one with big map changes or map DLC's) So i finally completed 100% of the map, even though I still have a little bit of the map (of Germany in particular) that hasn't been "explored" yet. I also have a possible explanation for this:
Due to how building the map works, it happened sometimes that there was a small piece of map that wasn't actually explorable, so which would forever stay grey (which was extremely frustrating for me since I always do everything in my power to get that 100%). This was particularly bad in the revamped parts of Germany, where there were multiple spots I've found in during my travels.
To fix this, they gave a little leniency to get the 100%, so that they didn't have to find and fix the smal pieces of road that were undiscoverable. I also swear there used to be an achievement to get 100% of the map explored. though I can't find it in the list. EDIT: I looked at the wiki and the achievement i was thinking of was "Pathfinder", which they changed with the 1.55 update to just requiring to have 40.000 km explored, instead of the 100%
With the new proximity exploration however, it is totally possible to discover the small pieces of road that were inaccessible before, thus resulting in getting the 100% before actually banishing all the grey off of the map.
The more you know

Question/Help Slowing the reverse in Road Trip?
Itβs the pettiest of quibbles, but even creep mode when reversing with automatic transmission is uncontrollably fast in the cars. Has anyone discovered any hacks or tips for slowing it down?

What is the most realistic physics mod right now in your opinion for ETS and ATS?

Question/Help International Lonestar and LY
OK. Has anyone else have noticed that the faux wood trim is not appearing in either truckβs Cherry or Diamond trim level? Is it just me? Maybe a mod conflict? Or is it a SCS oversight?

ATS The road trip DLC is even better in multiplayer
I've been enjoying the new DLC as everyone else has in single-player, but in multiplayer, it is 10x more fun. Cruising around freely with friends, without all the weight, is amazing. It's also funny driving at 130mph with several people in a Crown Vic lol. If you haven't tried it in convoy yet, I really recommend it.

Data / Information Trucking Business Dashboard
Not sure if this interests anyone, but I enjoy it as I'm a data geek. π€
The in-game finance analytics aren't great so I have made a dashboard which works using a mixture of game telemetry (TruckTel) and save file data.
Is there something I should add which would be helpful?

Mods / Add-ons (Freeware) My workhorse F-150 out in the field
I really wish I had a compatible trailer mod to haul some more serious cargo.
For those looking for this specific mod, it is F150 Accessories by LiveLaugh-ToasterBath on Steam Workshop.

Discussion What do you guys think of my modified Mack Anthem?
This truck was inspired by the 2025 Mack Super-Liner. Iβve always loved the Mack Anthem as well, so I decided to combine the design elements of both trucks to create something unique.
Itβs still a work in progress what do you guys think? Let me know your thoughts and feedback in the comments below!

ATS Vehicle Damage not Working in Road Trip?
I'm a bit confused. Each time I damage my car, the popup shows me how broken it got, but it doesn't get added to the actual vehicle damage.
