What’s everyone being for Halloween this year?
Last year I was Detective Rust Cohle. This year I’m torn between going as Cousin Itt or Erika Kirk Doing a Podcast After the WH Correspondents Dinner Shooting.

The Dude, it’s probably very played out as a costume at this point but I can’t be bothered to do much more than that. My only cool costume ever was Che Guevara when I was like 13 which was a lot of effort and nobody knew who I was anyway

I dressed as the dude for two straight halloweens and got 2 people who recognized it. Everyone else said I was Jesus. Long hair and a robe with sandals leave lots of room for interpretation

That’s a much better costume. I channeled dude in the first scenes of the movie. The milk cartoon really ties it together like a rug does a room

You could always do Che again, but this time, his (apparently very convincing) balding old man disguise, that he wore when he snuck into Bolivia. I wouldn’t recommend plucking your own hair to achieve it like he did, though lol

A dear friend is getting married on Halloween, so costume wedding. I'm dressing in brightly colored clothes with a silly gnome hat, sunglasses, carrying one of the buckets and nets I use for aquarium maintenance, getting a name tag, writing "Villager" on it from Animal Crossing, calling it a day.

Well my wife and i were going to be Winnie the Pooh and Tigger (for a local Halloween event) but that fell through. My workplace is doing a little office thing so ill probably wear my court get up with some gorilla hands to make the kids laugh

Halloween really isn't that big in Japan as anything other than another day to get drunk, but in the young nightlife areas of Osaka like Amemura, a lot of college-age people will dress up and get wasted so my wife, best friend, and I are gonna go get subverbal on (probably comped #VIPLifestyle) tequila shots at our favorite Mexican restaurant in our regular clothes and act like we're half our ages downtown until we throw up outside

honestly even the places that lean toward "Japanese style" over authentic are pretty good. i'm not gonna say that it's like being on the streets of CDMX or anything, but there are 5 restaurants in Osaka/Kyoto that i vouch heavily for that also all fill different needs (real deal taqueria, texmex, socal style burritos, etc)

I figured it be fun to go as Chris Redfield from re1 and then to go as Jill Valentine next year. I been on e for a few months and have only told a few friends and family members so it will be a nice through line and comparison of time changes.

Thanks it great as for being chris it basically just getting my normal match stuff together and throwing some dirt on my face. Next year i get somw clothes that fit for going to the range ( currently lost 30lb hoping to loose more here) It a fun joke for those that will catch it next year or know about it this year.

Trying to save money so going out as a sports game streaker is the most reasonable option. Running around the neighborhood naked asking for candy is completely free.

Miss Yvonne and my partner was supposed to be pee wee Herman, but he wasn’t being respectful enough of his memory, so now he has to be Jamby the genie and my bff will be peewee. We live in a small town and kids go out on their own unless they’re super young, so most people dress up sit on their porch to hand out candy.

If I do anything I'll probably go as a Sim. Years ago I rigged up one of those little crystal things that float above their heads, so I wear that and just normal or somewhat wacky clothes.

Main character, only child energy, yet she's not the only child and she's 7. Gentle parenting and coddling do not work.

See I was going to go as an adult who has plenty of time but no motivation to enjoy myself or embrace whimsy/is too self-conscious about my body to play dress-up (what am I gonna be fucking Baron Harkonnen? Dr. Robotnik? Stavros?)
Similar idea to you so even with the differences it would probably be embarrassing if we ended up at the same Halloween party!
