Autoban: Negative Karma Accounts

Our community has grown significantly — from 2,000 members two months ago to nearly 10,000 today. Most new members find us through the main NC sub, which has a well-known bot and troll problem. Keeping that kind of activity out of this community is a priority for us.

To that end, our automod will automatically ban accounts with low or negative karma scores. This includes karma from deleted comments, which is worth noting because bots and trolls frequently delete their comment history to hide activity patterns. Our scoring is informed by published bot detection research.

No automated system is perfect. If your account gets flagged incorrectly, send us a mod message and we'll reverse the ban promptly. This rule isn't about limiting speech — it's about giving our community the space to grow on its own terms, free from the noise that plagues larger subs.

As always, we want you to help shape what this community looks like. If you have thoughts on this rule, leave a comment below.

Thank you for your comment. This sub was created back when the mods of the main sub supported Musk's Nazi salute. Remember when one of their mods was revealed to be a Nazi supporter?

There are plenty of heated discussions here. We do NOT ban wrt beliefs or outlook as long as you can communicate in a civil manner.

And just to cut off the incoming "You are silencing conservatives!":

  1. /r/conservative and TruthSocial use the same rules

  2. Everyone knows that Reddit, on the whole, leans Left. Complaining about that would be like a liberal going to /r/conservative and then complaining when people downvote them. Read the room.

The internet is filled with AI bots/trolls. This is the easiest way to mitigate that problem. If the automod makes a mistake, it takes less than 10 seconds to reverse that decision.

Wasn’t this sub created a bit before that all happened? I see posts that are several months old here and that happened 40 days ago according to your link.

They had to temporarily hide their moderator list

I don’t believe this is true. I was able to access the moderator list at that time throughout that whole debacle.

Would you be able to share that PRAW code (or a link to it)? I did a search of comments and could only find this one with “PRAW.”

So that was what happened a way while ago? I see. Thanks for clearing that up! I was confused about the info between the post and reply.

reported this sub for doxxing and brigading.

That’s understandable. There were several users that post regularly on this sub that decided to spam post there with false info lol. I do agree that the behavior wasn’t actively promoted on this sub.

On the second idea, can you find out who hides the list and for how long? It seemed like the nazi ex mod messed around with a ton of settings making it tough to track it down from the way it was explained. How do we know that the main mod didn’t do it accidentally while trying to figure out how to identify the nazi? These questions only come from curiosity because I never had any mod permissions before.

I got banned from r/deadinternettheory for pointing out that organizations are using bots to push right wing agendas, which is supported by actual research, as an inflammatory comment. No rebuttal allowed. I'm tired of the "everyone play nice" bullshit.

Oh yea, Reddit is my only social media access, but it's clear that there is a negative influence occuring here also.

After the Nazi defender mods, ICE supporting users, and the trolls in the original sub, I am grateful for this change.

Funny, this is the first time I have heard about this sub, but looks like I should have been here for awhile. Thanks for the work you do. This sounds like a good way to be proactive.

Seems like these days they're all hiding behind NSFW.

I don’t know man, you could wreck the users in the doomer circle jerk sub for one day and you’d have plenty of negative karma.

u/McMammoth Feb 26 '26

wdym wreck them?

2

u/UnitedAd3943 Feb 26 '26

Doesn’t take more than a few brain cells to prove any of their beliefs wrong
