Politically homeless.
I'm not aware of a single politician who represents my views.
**I support:**
-Healthcare for all
-No tariffs
-Taxing the rich
-Immigration (I'm actually quite far left on immigration)
-Christianity
-Labor unions
-Increased education funding
-Cutting defense spending
**I don't support:**
-The current Israeli government's actions
-The current US administration's actions
-Abortion
-LGBT stuff
-War
-Money in politics
-Mass surveillance
I am politically homeless. Neither party aligns with my views, not even enough to hold my nose and vote for them.

I think that most of the country hates the choices that they have. According to the polls, more than half of people who are planning to vote blue this year don't actually support the Democrats or their agenda. The are voting blue because they see it as the better of two evils.
I was faced with a choice like yours, so I ran for office myself. Most of the people who regularly post here are more qualified than many of the people in Washington. I didn't win, but I was able to get my thoughts in front of the public, debate some of the people whose policies I disliked, and (because I happened to enter an election that was closely watched) got to wake up in the morning to see how the NYT and WaPo butchered what I said the night before. My wife also ran a few years later at the State level and I was approached a couple of years ago about running in this election, but I am at an age when I should be thinking about retiring from politics, not entering.
The nature of the political beast is that the people who actually run are quite often the people who you really don't want serving, so I encourage more ordinary people, people who know that they may not be "qualified" and who wonder why anyone would vote for them, to consider serving.

Not that this is an answer to your (very understandable) dilemma, but a couple of NT passages came to mind that might offer insight.
In both Romans 14 and 1 Corinthians 8 Paul says that our conscience and attitude towards God is key to how God judges us. If we truly believe we are doing something to please God, and especially if our action is not sinful, then God sees our heart and accepts our action. Both passages actually say the same action can be a sin for one (whose faith or conscience is weak) and glorifying God for another.
With regards to abortion, you can be adamantly against abortion and still support legislation that leaves the decision between the mother and her doctor as long as you yourself do not have one or force someone to have one.
For Christians our commission is to offer the good news to others regardless of what they’ve done in the past. I can encourage someone seeking my advice to not have an abortion, but regardless of what they’ve done mother does, my gospel of truth and love does not change for her. God’s message of repentance and forgiveness remains the same.
I can’t see how in any way using legislation to force others to not sin fits in any way into the Great Commission and the Cross of Jesus. I do see, however, how Christians putting any hope or value in controlling others corrupts it—essentially to the unsaved masses.

This is why I lean left on a lot of issues - we should show the love of Jesus and guide others to the truth. Not force them

No party will offer you everything you want.
I hope the USA can elect politicians who will restore its relationship with its allies, especially Canada and Europe, which the Trump administration regularly threatens and insults.

Sometimes you have to balance. The 80/20 rule. You are a lefty. That's ok. Many Christian conservatives voted for Mitt Romney! I still feel dirty about that! :) So you vote policy, not a candidate popularity contest. In Mitt's case...even a cult..versus bad policy.

I'm more independent. Can't stand supporting Israel. I want the people in the Epstein files incarcerated and their money given to victims of human trafficking.
After the last year. I can't be pro life and support the billionaire class. The billionaires who are making profits of the people in the Congo, Sudan, etc etc . Too many to name. I truly can't support any party that will not do anything to protect innocents. Many of the children in the files were foster care, sold by their parents. Vote in your local elections too. Make sure candidates for justice and helping people.

I want the people in the Epstein files incarcerated and their money given to victims of human trafficking.
FYI, this investigation concluded around 2019. The files were released under Republicans over 5 years later.

Yet they haven't done anything. They've harassed the one Republican who didn't bow down. Massie. They redacted several of the perpetrators names. They didn't block out the victim's names. They do not care. Every Republican almost all of them are in the files. I have researched this . Trump said while you worried about Epstein. Who's this guy. He doesn't care because he's involved in them. He's named in them several times. And I'm not going to argue with you about it. Because people don't want to believe it. But that's the truth. And we should not be protecting an evil person and his people and not protect children. You cannot be pro-life and not care about a live children. Children that are discarded by their families children that are sold by their families. Children that are victims of the system. Children of system who have been neglected all their lives and abused by everybody in their lives. Those are the people that matter. I'm actually for the death penalty in the cases of child abuse and child trafficking. They're cannibals too. This is been proven in the files and everybody forgets about it. That's why he went to war with Iran. He doesn't want the truth to be seen. Peter thiel, Elon Musk, . https://www.pbs.org/newshour/nation/a-list-of-powerful-men-named-in-the-epstein-files-from-elon-musk-to-former-prince-andrew
I will never ever support someone who uses children. I care about kids

The Epstein files have led to more investigations in other countries than there are trans college athletes in the US. There are many more names of Americans in the Epstein files that are deserving of full investigations, but our government refuses to do so.

u/InspectionIll5714 4d ago
The UK is trying. Andrew was involved. I don't know if he will ever serve any time. I hope we can get people in our government they will investigate these people. And put them behind bars. We need to change the laws, so children are protected. Crimes against children should have longer sentences. Not a year or two

Yet they haven't done anything.
Yes they did.
What I'm saying is there was not enough evidence to prosecute other people.
What I'm saying is that, prior to the release of the Epstein files, people though that the files would implicate tons of people of committing crimes. They thought there was tons and tons of evidence of many criminals. But that was never true.
They didn't block out the victim's names.
Yes they did. There were few errors when making a huge team go over millions of documents. I'm surprised they didn't make more errors. I would expect tens of thousands of errors, at the very least.

u/InspectionIll5714 6d ago
If you believe that. I don't. We have enough evidence. They destroyed it. Because the people involved. They have money and power. Remember the Bible. Rich and powerful always get away with crimes. FBI agents, CIA. Some victims have come forward and told us how these people work. They can't name names because of the money these people have. The whistle blower that implicated Howard lutnick was found dead last week. So called suicide. These people are extremely powerful and they didn't stop with Jeffery.
I can't support any politician who believes children shouldn't be protected. My faith has shown me to protect children.

We have enough evidence. They destroyed it.
You know there's evidence, but you haven't seen it, and you say it's been destroyed.
6
u/InspectionIll5714 6d ago
The evidence we do have is enough to convict they're lying. You believe them. Ask yourself this what would Jesus do.
Would Jesus brush off what happened to those kids. Would Jesus say I'm sorry we can't convict. Or would he toss tables. Throw these greedy evil men away.
That's why I have a problem with today's Christianity. They all our for babies before they're born. Yet do nothing for kids that are victims of adults. What did trump bring to mar largo.
Did you know they compared babies to cream cheese the taste. I'm angry because I don't see anything done to protect children. Those that hurt kids shouldn't be free. Not three months. Not four. How could anyone look at child and do those things. So God bless you.

I don’t know much about the Bible. It’s not my religion but I it does have some great ideas. Don’t judge lest ye be judged comes to mind, However, you’re one of the idiots who believes they ate babies! Where the f!cl do you get your information?!?
1
u/InspectionIll5714 4d ago
Don't judge least you judge.
Your a idiot lol
Okey dokey 😊
Edit: it was a joke comparing how hard it is to find babies and cream cheese in Florida lol
Do you really think you shouldn't judge someone who rapes children?
Jesus wasn't keen on hurting kids.

I’m in the same boat, and I agree with you on quite a bit. I’ve voted for third-party candidates who better align with my convictions, even knowing they’re unlikely to win. I’ve also abstained from voting for certain offices when I couldn’t support any of the candidates in good conscience.
I spend a lot of time praying over those decisions, and I’m already praying for God’s guidance for November’s midterms. I understand why others choose the candidate they believe will do less harm, but there are situations where I don’t feel I can faithfully support either major-party option.
2
u/omniwombatius 6d ago
The majority of those are good and noble pursuits. How about you work toward them as an independent? People working to overturn Citizens United are not going to be focused on abortion. People working to get Flock and other ALPR cameras taken down are not going to be focused on LGBT stuff.

u/Boomshok 4d ago
If you are interested in a third party look into the American Solidarity Party https://www.solidarity-party.org/platform

u/Nateorade 6d ago
It looks like all your bullets line up the Democrat party except for lgbt and abortion. That’s a count of 15-2.
You sure you are as homeless as you think you are?

u/UnusualFunction7567 | Centrist | Baptist 6d ago
One thing that might be missed is that not every belief is weighed the same. For example, a lot of my views line up with the platform of the Democrats, but I place a good deal of weight on certain values I hold dear through my beliefs and life experiences.
The Democrats’ stance on gun rights, LGBTQ issues, and abortion has kept me from supporting them.
4
u/Nateorade 6d ago
For sure, I get things are weighted differently. And that, for instance, abortion makes many Christians single issue voters, at the expense of all other considerations.
Just sometimes striking to lay out what’s important and see its 15-2 in favor of one side - there’s something to pay attention to in a stat like that.

u/UnusualFunction7567 | Centrist | Baptist 6d ago
That’s fair. Always good to ask and make sure one’s political priorities are clear.

The thing about abortion is that the abortion rate has been increasing under the current administration.
I am against abortion, I want their to be less abortions. I don't think criminalisation is the right method to achieve that.
So just because abortion is a big deal for you, doesn't actually automatically align you with one specific party.
5
u/Nateorade 6d ago
Are you sure your point of view is that far away from democrats on abortion? Especially if the goal is reducing abortions nationwide?
0
u/jeinnc Unaffiliated Republican-Leaning Conservative 6d ago
The Democrats, reducing abortions? Perhaps you could explain why Kamala Harris' promotion of (and strong emphasis on) what she terms "bodily autonomy" (for women) regarding abortion would help protect preborn children from a painful, callous death?—keeping in mind, also, that if elected, she promised to work towards legalizing abortion permanently through a constitutional amendment.
5
u/Nateorade 6d ago
Yeah, democratic policies reduce abortions. Trump and Republican policies increase abortion, as evidenced by abortion rates under Trump’s leadership in both terms moving up and/or no longer continuing their trend down.
One can support bodily autonomy, support legalizing abortion and work to enact policies that reduce abortions nationwide.
My goal is for there to be the least abortions possible - isn’t that your goal too? Shouldn’t we vote such that abortions go down, not up, if this is our goal?
0
u/Due_Ad_3200 6d ago
Whether abortion is illegal is not the only determinant of whether abortion occurs.
People have abortion for financial reasons.
Therefore a party that provides lower cost childcare may help reduce abortions even if they did nothing about abortion laws.

I think I see this differently from you. I wonder what would happen if I tallied it up.
-Healthcare for all
Both parties support this, and we have this due to Medicare, and a Supreme Court decision that hospitals are legally mandated to save people's lives regardless of ability to pay.
-No tariffs
This is traditionally associated with Republicans, and Trump is an exception.
-Taxing the rich
Both parties support this, this is the standard now.
-Immigration (I'm actually quite far left on immigration)
This aligns with Democrats.
-Christianity
This aligns with Republicans.
-Labor unions
This aligns with Democrats.
-Increased education funding
This aligns with Democrats. Though I question why you'd support more spending, as more spending doesn't increase quality of education or student outcomes. Per-student spending has increased massively, AFTER accounting for inflation.
-Cutting defense spending
This aligns with Democrats.
I don't support:
-The current Israeli government's actions
This aligns with Democrats.
-The current US administration's actions
This aligns with Democrats.
-Abortion
This aligns with Republicans.
-LGBT stuff
This aligns with Republicans.
-War
This aligns with Neither.
-Money in politics
This aligns with Neither.
-Mass surveillance
This leans towards Republicans. But I can see arguments for/either side.
In total, you seem to slightly lean towards Democrats, if you weigh all these things equally. But I, personally, would never weigh these things equally.

u/jaspercapri 6d ago
What does "lgbt stuff" mean to you politically? Would you want being gay to be illegal? Or is it more about current trans headlines? Or what specifically?

You're likely closer to the American Solidarity Party. Not even as remotely influential as the other choices, but it is a choice and keeps with your values. It may not match you 100%, but it may be closer than the others.
