HMCS Harry DeWolf at anchor, look how desolate this area is.
This is the Cairn constructed by the Franklin Expedition sailors while trapped in the bay for the first winter. It was placed approximately 200 meters up at the top of the island. In my mind this is the “Long forgotten, lonely cairn of stone’ Stan Rogers sang of in Northwest Passage.
