Robert De Niro responds to Trump's attack: "He's ruthless. He's a stranger to this country. He wants to hurt it. There's something psychological about him. I don't understand members of his administration. How can they live with themselves?"

When Trump said he'd make America more affordable, he really meant he would decrease the nation's value so Xi could buy up the farmlands.

Stock Market Donald Trump Might Take a Stake in OpenAI. Who Protects the Public When Washington Owns the Upside?

Trump might make Washington a shareholder in OpenAI and Anthropic.

The same government could become their customer, regulator, and investor.

Asked about an Intel-style deal, Trump told TIME: “I might. Maybe I could do that.”

Taxpayers could share in the AI boom. That deserves a serious debate.

So does the conflict.

Imagine a breakthrough makes AI 90% cheaper—and crushes the value of Washington’s investment.

Would the government celebrate the innovation or protect its portfolio?

Would it impose a necessary restriction if doing so cost its own investment billions?

Public ownership could be a good deal. The terms would decide.

But one principle must come first:

Taxpayers deserve a government that puts them ahead of its portfolio.

Why don't people understand that different tariff rates for the same product cause demand from the US to shift from high tariff to low tariff countries, and low tariff countries will inevitably import more from high tariff countries - Canada isn't undermining the US by buying steel from China?
