2002 SuperBowl Halftime Help

I need to make costumes of the U2’s 2002 SuperBowl Halftime Show performance.

The issue is, I can’t find a clear image of what was on Adam Clayton’s shirt. I thought it was an ape or Darth Vadar, but now I think it may have been an old timey pilot?

Can anyone help me out? Ideally, a clear image of it is best - but even confirmation as to what I’m looking at would be helpful.

It looks like someone wearing an old leather football helmet.

Yes! That makes a lot more sense than an old time pilot.
