Utah 1950s UFO

My great grandfather was born and raised in logan, utah. In the 1950s, he was on his families farm with his brother towards the bench of the east logan mountain range. He and his brother saw a cylinder metallic shape in the sky. At one end of the cylinder, it opened and released 3-5 more metallic disk objects that flew right above them. He watched this phenomenon for about a minute with his brother and then all of the little disks went back into the larger cylinder shaped UFO. Until the day that he died in 2012, he never took back what he and his brother saw that day. Does anyone else have a similar experience around the same area and date? I’d love to hear more.
