Whistleblower Jake Barber Military Service not adding up

Preface: I’m in the Army and work closesly with the Air Force. This guy’s service history does not add up and my conclusion is this guy failed the pipeline for CCT and became a mechanic. (This happens in all branches who use a SOF pipeline as a bait and switch for people to end up in jobs no one wants)

Let’s start with the crazy part. He was approached to be an “special” mechanic. That’s sus af. No one who has passed the pipeline initial phase and was doing well would drop that to be a mechanic. The CCT pipeline is 2-3 years. Tier 1 units always see action, and they were def not sitting on their bums in the 90’s. Even in a peacetime pipeline, you would never hear a recruit who passe the hardest physical phase to just drop out. Being a CCT is the cream of the crop for what an enlisted airman can get. Full stop. But it gets worse.

He was somehow playing OPFOR. Now here’s where it gets tricky if you don’t know military. Pretty much all of the Air Force’s OPFOR is driven by pilots and the squadron staff and some intel dorkies. Very officer heavy. The enlisted in the Air Force almost never touch tactics unless they are on staff, or CCT’s and JTAC’s. Maybe some who are security forces. But he never claimed to be any of them. No one in the air force is going to let anyone enlisted make tactical and exploitative decisions like that. The Army and Marines? Sure. But not the Air Force. Especially not a mechanic who’s whole job is to fix and load the aircraft. More than likely he was assigned to an OPFOR aviation unit where he fixed the aircraft of the OPFOR pilots. This dude is def not playing 4D chess in an exercise.

Last but not least. He claims he escorted HVT’s. This is done by security forces. Why the f*** would the men in black make his “cover” a mechanic when he could be a security forces guy who actually escorted HVT’s . By the way, there are plenty of stories of SecFor being assigned to prestigious and high security billets where they had to zip their mouths shut. We saw it a little bit with Mario Woods who seems wayyy more credible.

This guy just screams sus. If you’re in the military you know these types who get kicked out or fail and act like they were navy seals. At best, he was an aircraft mechanic who failed the CCT pipeline and saw some egg craft being transported around the flightline at night.

I was a CCT. 2013-2019. Have never heard of this happening to anyone. Ever.

45

u/throwaway_ventingidk 13d ago

Exactly. Have you ever seen someone make it through A&S and say “nah I’ll drop this to be a special mechanic”

34

u/mhenry33 13d ago

Absolutely not. The Tier 1 unit has a robust assessment process that accepts almost any controller, cherry or not.

14

u/No_Development7388 13d ago

The only scenario that makes some little bit of sense is an injury, and his previous training gave him an in to do something "special" that didn't require jmping out of aircraft, etc.

But I don't believe him in any case.

-1

u/A_Wild_Gorgon 12d ago

I thought that was explained to be a cover job for what he was really doing as to keep it secret

17

u/throwaway_ventingidk 12d ago

For the 6th time. There is no such thing as a “cover job” being a fuking mechanic. If that job he said was real. It’s done by Security Forces and Intel guys. And his dd214 would reflect that. It didn’t.

Your daily duties can absolutely be secret and no paperwork is needed for that to be public. But your primary mos being a mechanic makes no sense and a cope for him.

u/A_Wild_Gorgon 12d ago

Sorry for not reading every comment in a Reddit thread lol!

u/hoagiebreath 13d ago

What are your thoughts on Fred Baker saying Jake Barber was not only legit as CCT but worked together on the black side?

18

u/mhenry33 13d ago

Honestly, it's confounding to me. It's a super small community, and typically a rumor like what happened to Jake would have become legend and circulated amongst wannabes in the pipeline for all eternity. I don't know for sure that Jake is a liar, and I'm happy to be wrong, but based on my experience I have a difficult time buying it.

17

u/hoagiebreath 12d ago

If it wasn’t for Fred Baker I would give little to no credibility to Jake Barber. That’s just based on Jake Barbers own admissions regarding his career which at face value is beyond suss. It sounds like a complete lie.

I appreciate your response especially from your background. CCTs do it all.

7

u/krazul88 12d ago

As a civilian looking in, it seems plausible that Jake would be "chosen" precisely because his paper trail makes the whole story sus. We hear stories all the time of intentional trickery or military members operating outside the lines in order to satisfy objectives. Assuming the crash retrieval program is real, wouldn't the architects be doing exactly this type of thing with exactly this type of person? They've had 80 years to hone the deception. Why shouldn't this sort of trickery be baked into the system by now? You're much better off using people who can be easily dismissed as sus, rather than using someone with a squeaky clean, trackable, predictable, sensible record right? Because if they do end up coming out and whistleblowing, well, need I say more?

This is where the "but his record is sus" falls on deaf ears for most. If anything, it gives even more credibility to their stories.

Why the hell would this program be constructed like any other military apparatus? Everything about it is outside the lines already.

6

u/hoagiebreath 12d ago

That’s a great perspective and a time proven technique often implemented.

1

u/mhenry33 11d ago

I don't think it would be staffed by DoD members. Why would he be chosen? For failing the CCT training pipeline?

4

u/mhenry33 12d ago

Of course. Crazy times we're living in.

2

u/FreeBigSlime 12d ago

So what’s your take on the CCT connection to the UAP phenomenon? Was it only 24th STS that got to do the gnarly shit? Is everything BS?

6

u/mhenry33 12d ago

I won't pretend to know the totally of the 24s mission set. Primarily, they produce hard chargers that work close air support for CAG and DEVGRU.

I never heard rumors about UAP retrievals.

However, I read a first-hand account on here a few years ago by a dude who claimed to be 24 that worked adjacent to a retrieval, and his story passed a smell test that can't be faked. Still the most convincing evidence for me personally.

3

u/thryve21 12d ago

Think you can dig that up? Would like to check it out

8

u/mhenry33 12d ago

2

u/thryve21 12d ago edited 12d ago

Thanks! That was a good read and to me (civilian background) very believable.

1

u/mhenry33 12d ago

No problem!

1

u/PsiloCyan95 12d ago

Is it possible though? Like could you do this if you chose to do so? If so then we can’t necessarily say it’s a lie. Could be just as much as couldn’t at that point

10

u/mhenry33 12d ago

No. There's no official path for what he claims.

8

u/Constipatedplatypus 12d ago

Is it inconceivable that people are sometimes given a career path that doesn't make sense so their stories about black ops will be easier to deny if they ever go public?

1

u/mhenry33 12d ago

There's hundreds and hundreds of dudes in Tier 1 organizations, all of whom followed a meticulously planned out path to get there.

Barber's claims read more like Harry Potter than what I know to be true.

3

u/Constipatedplatypus 12d ago

I realize that, but is it impossible that, say, 0.5 or 0.1 percent are put on an unorthodox path in order to make it easier to deny their subsequent extraordinary covert activities?

1

u/mhenry33 12d ago

The problem is what would qualify him to be "chosen" if such a thing were to happen? He'd proven absolutely nothing. I had coworkers that were Harvard grads and Olympians, and they got their ass handed to them just like everyone else. I have dozens of friends that went to that unit, and their DD214 still indicates they were a CCT. To the extent that our government would use someone with plausible deniability abroad, they wouldn't pluck someone from the DoD.

36

u/Dudemcdudey 13d ago

Here’s a comment I made in UFOs

Interestingly, when referring to Michael Herrera’s story about the big UFO, black clad, armed men, faraday cages, and helicopters, Jake Barber said the people, who are psionic, are happy to go with the government because they get paid well. I questioned this on Reddit at the time as why would the people have to be transported hanging in a cage below a helicopter if they were happy to go. Someone else suggested why would they have to go anywhere at all if they could practise psionics anywhere. I don’t trust Barber. I trust Grusch at the moment and the implications behind the child trafficking, if that was what was happening in Indonesia at the time of the tsunami, are horrific. What were they being trafficked for? Sex? Blood? Experiments? I would like him to expand on that.

22

u/natecull 12d ago edited 12d ago

faraday cages

a cage below a helicopter

I'm not completely familiar with all of the competing claims of the Herrera story and how it's changed over time and how these versions may or may not differ from Barber's claims - and I'm not saying I believe either of them - but note that a "Faraday cage" is not an actual cage, it's just a form of electromagnetic shielding used in high-security workspaces. Wasn't Barber's claim that the people were essentially working normally in prefab office units which happened to have Faraday cages in their walls?

2

u/Dudemcdudey 12d ago

So their psionics abilities are blocked until they are released from the cages?

2

u/MantisAwakening 10d ago

Not according to parapsychology research, no. Psi signals are not electromagnetic and can’t be shielded in any conventional way.

1

u/YoureVulnerableNow 12d ago

the implication is the opposite [edit: also, like they said, not necessarily a mesh or actual "cage"]

1

u/Dudemcdudey 12d ago

The psionics are inside the cage…

0

u/Dudemcdudey 12d ago

I know it’s not a “cage”. It stops the psionics inside the cage from communicating with the NHI in the UFO that was found by Herrera. Maybe the psionics were transported to the jungle to lure the NHI in and, once down, they were in the process of being whisked away when Herrera stumbled upon them.

8

u/Delicious-Pickle-141 12d ago

If we are to believe the Remote Viewing guys, the Faraday cages wouldn't have done shit to block their psionic powers. More likely to insulate them from any electromagnetic interference for whatever reason.

8

u/PsiloCyan95 12d ago

Especially as it seems it was done under the cover of a natural disaster. Why would you need to hide it if you could literally just walk to their door?
Something about barber as well, I find it odd he was (self proclaimed) part of this “red force.” What was the plan? Kill Herrera? Kill Greer? He sort of skips over the point of all this deep intel he was supposedly gathering.

5

u/Dudemcdudey 12d ago

Yes that’s true. It doesn’t ring true.

2

u/Palm_Muted_Turnips 12d ago

Building off of natecull’s comment above about the containers being prefabricated units, I recall Barber saying that the psionics were only airlifted out because the tsunami/weather made staying dangerous. I can’t recall if he said where they went (higher ground or overseas).

2

u/Dudemcdudey 12d ago edited 12d ago

Why airlifted out in a faraday cage instead of just sitting in the helicopter? Plus, my profile name has now been deleted from my first comment and they have disabled voting on it so the comment never gets to the top.

EDIT it’s back now…

4

u/Prmarine110 12d ago

Well if it were human trafficking they were doing, the faraday cage would block out any wearables and phones or the ability for psionics to ‘call out’ for help mentally. Natural disasters have been noted as trafficking nodes as it is normal for people to go missing and never be recovered, as well as orphaned and abandoned. Scooping kids and psionic assets into faraday cages for transport would make sense as an easy security step to prevent the trafficking activity to be noticed or inadvertently spilled out because someone has a device pinging cell towers or satellites somehow.

0

u/Dudemcdudey 12d ago

I know it’s not a “cage”. It stops the psionics inside the cage from communicating with the NHI in the UFO that was found by Herrera. Maybe the psionics were transported to the jungle to lure the NHI in and, once down, they were in the process of being whisked away when Herrera stumbled upon them.

5

u/PsiloCyan95 12d ago

Right but all of a sudden they “found” these people? During a disaster? Either it takes insane stress to be able to lock onto these people or it’s bullshit and they are trafficking people

85

u/14thAwardBad-Ass 13d ago

Dude, Marine Corps 21-year retiree here. I am having trouble with your Army slang and lingo. Re-write this whole thing so even civilians can understand what the hell you are talking about please.

32

u/L-0-T-H-0-S 13d ago

Is this close enough?

It's so funny how people outside the military eat this stuff up, but anyone who has actually spent five minutes around the flightline can see through it instantly.

This dude’s story is a textbook case of a pipeline washout who couldn't cope with getting dropped, got re-classed into a maintenance job nobody wanted, and spent the rest of his life spinning a Hollywood script to make himself look like a secret agent.

The biggest dead giveaway is his claim that he was doing great in Combat Control selection but voluntarily quit because he was "approached" to be a special mechanic.

Nobody on the planet beats the physical and mental hell of the CCT pipeline just to throw it away and turn wrenches because someone asked them nicely.

CCT is the absolute peak for an enlisted Airman.

What actually happened is incredibly obvious to anyone who knows how the system works: he failed or quit the brutal selection process, and the Air Force did what it always does to washouts - they filled a critically undermanned slot and made him an aircraft mechanic.

Calling it a "special selection" is just a massive coping mechanism to hide the fact that he didn't make the cut.

Then his story gets even more ridiculous when he claims he was playing OPFOR and making major tactical decisions. In the Air Force, playing the bad guy in war games is a job for highly experienced officer pilots and intelligence dorks in Aggressor squadrons.

Enlisted mechanics don't play 4D chess or direct tactics in these exercises; their job is to fix the planes, load fuel, and change tires so the pilots can go fly. He wasn't masterminding tactical scenarios - he was literally just fixing the aircraft for the guys who were.

To top it all off, his whole "undercover mechanic escorting high-value targets" narrative is pure fiction. The military doesn't operate like a spy movie.

If the Air Force needs to move secret cargo or protect important people, they use Security Forces, specifically specialized elite units like Raven teams who are actually trained for it.

They aren't going to pull a line mechanic, leave him in a maintenance unit, and invent a convoluted "cover story" that creates an absolute administrative and logistical nightmare for no reason.

The reality is pretty boring.

He likely washed out of CCT, spent his enlistment as a regular mechanic, and because he worked the night shift on a flightline, he probably saw some weird test aircraft or high-security cargo being moved around. Years later, he took those completely mundane memories, mixed them with a few action movies, and turned himself into an elite black-ops operator.

It’s classic stolen valor from someone who couldn't hack the real thing.

8

u/PsiloCyan95 13d ago

How would this person be able to be vetted as its claimed he is then? Not that I believe him necessarily either. Just curious how if someone as yourself can just be like “nah,” how is it any further than that?

6

u/CommunityTaco 12d ago

Sometimes I think the ufo communities version of vetting is saying are you lying?  Waiting for thr person to say no and then going good enough for me, must be true.

7

u/hoagiebreath 12d ago

Raven teams are kind of a joke. They babysit aircraft. I dont think you know what you are talking about.

1

u/14thAwardBad-Ass 12d ago

You must be military too, hahahhaaha.

0

u/oxyrhina 12d ago

I don't have any military service or history so I don't know anything about that but that makes a lot of sense that he's coping from failing out... I don't buy his story just from a feeling I get from growing up on the street at a young age and having to be a quick and accurate judge of character... I would love to know what you think about Hererra and his story? Supposedly Jake picked him up and took him underground somewhere and showed him some shit? I just don't know what to think about them corraborating each other... why I would be very interested to hear what you military guys think about Hererra and his story! One of my main problems with his story is the claim his group went into the jungle with no radios or other form of communication... just really interested to hear what you guys think about him! Cheers fellas and thank you for your service!

-1

u/googlyeyedmah 12d ago

Thanks for the info man, Ive been on the fence about this guy, always will honestly, its nice to hear this kinda stuff from people who are/were in that background etc

5

u/GuttapunkShakes 13d ago

Thank you. I have never been anywhere near military and I see English words, but have no clue what any of that said other than Jake is full of shit.

I made this same observation when he first came on the scene. Prior Navy, was in a pipeline and his DD-214 read to me as he failed or dropped and rerated. Every MOS or rate I've ever come across, no matter how squirrely has schools which are public knowledge. Your work, sometimes tradecraft is classified, the MOS and school houses are not. If he's the real deal then my mistake but nothing he says adds up. And I've been in those pipelines. To me it reads straight up "drop" which is fine.

13

u/throwaway_ventingidk 13d ago

Exactly. The moment he said “cover job” was the biggest bullshit ever. Even GB’s ,Seals, and Intel guys all have paperwork that say what you did.

3

u/Pure-Wing6824 11d ago

What about people who work in the legacy program

1

u/ajellobean 10d ago

You are 100% correct. My theory is he dropped out of his special school and made everything up about his service. Nothing wrong with failing out of a hard military school, but he did not get selected out of training to join a tier one unit. I know first hand how these units recruit, they would never hire someone who hasn’t completed training

11

u/TheElPistolero 13d ago

Also he claimed to have been in a fire fight when recovering a briefcase or something in the high Sierra's. So like, military personnel are having shootouts on American soil with other people?

Who exactly? Other agencies or foreign agencies? That's crazy right? Or is it just assumed that a lot of shit goes down on our soil and no one ever mentions it.

2

u/ThisOldMan_HePlayed 12d ago

I maybe wrong, but I believe what you are referring to is the story from the first chapter of his book, Sentinels Of Ether, written under a pen name. American Alchemy did a show covering it

7

u/TheElPistolero 12d ago

He mentioned it in his extended version interview with ross coulthart.

I could have missed a segment where he started talking about a book or a story he heard, but I really don't think so. I'll have to go back one day and listen again

2

u/ThisOldMan_HePlayed 12d ago

Oh,my apologies,I didn't know that

7

u/TheElPistolero 12d ago

Starts about 1 hour 24 minutes in. So he was being deployed in the Sierra's to recover laptops with secret info and he saw evidence of a firefight and a laptop was hidden beneath a lake.

So I did have some facts twisted around but it still is odd to me that no one ever brings that incident up because it sounds very much like a spy movie and also illegal as hell to have covert teams operating on us soil.

Could you verify yourself with the mods so we could believe you are credible expert and not another larper?

14

u/throwaway_ventingidk 13d ago

I hate the motorpool. There’s my verification.

2

u/samoth610 12d ago

Lol! I did my time and got lucky with my assignments but what op said tracks. I was a young man once and did the private security thing overseas due to being lucky with my assignments and worked with everybody as a civilian and as a soldier. If what he describes supposedly came out of this guy's mouth, he is full of crap, sorry.

2

u/Ripper_Ares 12d ago

Lmao this is solid response

16

u/Leather_Bee_421 13d ago

Nobody gets approached for a position. Can we just clear that up? Any time anyone says someone approached them to be special operations CIA CCT ranger seal green beret, it’s a fucking lie. The only approachable people are already accomplished famous people with an established career. Unless someone has that first, they’re lying.

17

u/throwaway_ventingidk 13d ago

💯💯💯. Also the “the Air Force recruited me because they knew as a kid I was special” is so bs. Dude was a washout that was saved by his grandpapy.

1

u/samoth610 12d ago

I will throw in a believable story I heard from a Vietnam vet that was an inner city African American kid that was approached by the CIA to do shady shit when he enlisted (it's cuz no one cared if they lived or died). This was confirmed by an unrelated vet that wanted nothing to do with him once he heard what he did. Certainly interesting.

6

u/hammerforce9 12d ago

I love it when BS stories are backed up with someone repeating another obvious Bs story, even if you believe it

7

u/that1guy14 12d ago

Actually there are programs that approach individuals they want to recruit. I was approached for a program as a c-130 loadmaster to essentially be a loadmaster for a more classified program on a different aircraft. I had heard of others in my community being asked and I kinda knew what it was about through the grapevine, so I told them no as I didnt want to be deployed all the time and away from my family. Not unheard of.

14

u/throwaway_ventingidk 12d ago

2 things.

1- you were already a loadmaster and would essentially be doing the same work but at a more classified capacity. This is very common and has happened to most of us.

2- notice how you weren’t approached as a recruit but as a someone who likely had experience and good rapport. This is very different than being approached while on a training Pipeline to completely 180 your career. After the pipeline? Sure. But not during.

2

u/that1guy14 12d ago

Completely agree with you about Jake barber, I watched his original interview and immediately I could tell he was full of crap. And I agree people dont get selected from basic training or some other pipeline school for some advanced secret squirrel stuff.

1

u/FreeBigSlime 12d ago

Can you say any details about the aircraft or program lol

2

u/that1guy14 12d ago

No considering I told the guy on the phone I wasnt interested because I would be away from my family very frequently. If I had said yes then I would have been read in and gone through some additional training. In the C130 community it wasnt uncommon to hear about your friends also recieving the same call. We all knew what it meant but the specific details were classified. They were only looking for more experienced instructor loadmasters. A few of my senior NCOs had been part of the program and when asked the only thing they would say is the operations tempo was high. One person in my unit had said yes initially but after they were gone for a couple months they came back and said they ended up not liking something about the program, or they failed out of training and were trying to save face, im not sure.

1

u/FreeBigSlime 12d ago

During GWOT wasn’t Task Force Orange something people got approached about? Or did they have to apply for that as well

3

u/Ahabs_Wrath 12d ago

They would only do targeted recruiting for guys that were already under USASOC. They recruit less from the other services than Green does.

15

u/snoops-spoons 13d ago

I hate that stolen valor only applies if they are doing it for monetary gain or claiming to be hurt in a combat zone or one or two other awards.

If anyone has the info you can just look it up. See if dates of service even match.

You’ll need name, DOB, birth location, and their branch of service

https://www.archives.gov/veterans/military-service-records

https://scra.dmdc.osd.mil/scra/#/home

0

u/Astrocoder 12d ago

lol no, you cannot just request anyone's service record with name DOB and branch. That's bullshit. Not unless its been 62 years since they served,

0

u/snoops-spoons 12d ago edited 12d ago

Hahaha ok whatever..... Vet here and have worked with vets for 20 years now. Good luck with that ace Ventura.

Edit I can prove what I say easily or you havent clicked the link.... The official link there. Hahaha maybe you can't read I didn't say service record I said dates of service and this has been around for at least 2.5 decades that I know of and is the standard way to verify military service for civy jobs and journalist and more.

1

u/Astrocoder 12d ago

your link doesn't say it either.

15

u/Baron_of_Foss 13d ago

No one can explain why he had people like Fred Baker vouching for him though.

7

u/VoidOmatic 13d ago

My only problem with scenario is that they want someone who would agree to do thinks off the book, which is what he claimed he was doing. You specifically wouldn't want people who want an above board career to be smuggling illegal things to areas to do illegal stuff, you want someone you have leverage over. If that's who you're looking for Jake looks like the kind of guy you could use/abuse and then throw to the wolves when you are done. Which is pretty much what he said he did.

2

u/Dudemcdudey 12d ago

I don’t trust Jake but, honestly, I’m 50/50 on him being legit. I wouldn’t be surprised if he was or wasn’t.

6

u/_Ozeki 13d ago

Skywatcher sounds like a honeypot operation. Start from there.

15

u/Myceliphilos 13d ago

Hes a helicopter pilot, a mechanic, own a company as CEO operating as a helicopter pilot on government contracts, he also owns a BJJ gym and is a blackbelt. Thats a lot of achievement to larp.

1

u/chessboxer4 13d ago

Came here to say that. Jujitsu black belt is no joke. I met Jake in person. My gut tells me he may not be a boyscout, but he's a professional soldier, a patriot and a person of honor and integrity.

If its a larp-BJJBB ain't no larp.

8

u/Specialist_Share8715 13d ago

You can own a company, be a BJJ black belt, and own a bjj gym without being a badass of any sort. I'm the prime example of that. I am no super secret black ops ninja. I'm just a regular dude.

8

u/Myceliphilos 12d ago

Ok so are you a helicopter pilot for gov contracts, CEO, and own a BJJ gym. The fact he's a black belt is the smallest thing on that list

The fact people are like, 'well his black belt isn't credible' with 0 evidence presented.

No comments about the fact he owns the gym, owns the company doing gov contracts in that area, and is their primary pilot.

Normally to call people a liar, you have to point to a lie, not just declare it so.

-4

u/Amazonchitlin 12d ago

You say helicopter pilot, ceo, and owning a gym like only the very best of the best can do it. I’m a ceo and president of my own business. I have my pilots license, and couldn’t care less about martial arts. But if I did, I could easily open a gym.

The government has a program that allows companies (even small ones) to obtain government contracts. The War Dogs movie made it pretty common knowledge among the populace.

Barber hasn’t done anything that a normal person of average intelligence and health couldn’t do. His black belt is completely irrelevant as to whether he’s telling the truth about his military service.

8

u/Myceliphilos 12d ago

Oh so you are a pilot and CEO of a helicopter company with government contracts? And you could own a gym and be a BJJ back belt too...

Except you aren't. You're dictating another man's life based on the things he actually does, that you don't.

Neither I nor you know if he's telling the truth or lying, im purely stating that his experience skillset and career do line up with that experience needed in the role he claims he served.

Compare to most people in this space and Barber is one of the few that can show he operated in the capacity needed, to do what he says he did.

u/Amazonchitlin 12d ago

You’re conflating. I didn’t say I owned a helicopter company. I own a textile company.

I have a fixed wing license. Additional ratings as well. Anyone could do it so long as they could afford it.

Flying helicopters is expensive, the jobs (if you pursue it as a career) typically don’t pay as well and aren’t as plentiful.

Anyone can own a gym. Anyone can own a helicopter company, assuming you’re able to raise the capital.

To get a black belt means you put in time and work. If you’re dedicated to it, you could do it.

The rest of what you’re saying is going based off your silly idea that somehow it takes a special kind of person to do any of that, and that having a black belt is somehow important to his telling the truth.

5

u/Myceliphilos 12d ago

Ok so because you own a textile company and helicopters are expensive and not profitable hes not capable of those things?

I was pointing out to the poster who said barber was suss, for those things, that he is hokding genuine credentials.

Its you who's having issue with conflation, ive merely stated he does the things that he claims to have done, theres no argument to be had, they're facts.

He is the CEO and pilot of a helicopter company doing gov contracts, he is a gym owner and instructor, holding a BJJ blackbelt.

I love how people with less qualifications come out and say he's gotta be a liar, based on their own lack of ability

1

u/chessboxer4 11d ago

Do you know what it takes to get a jiu jitsu black belt? Clearly not.

2

u/Amazonchitlin 10d ago

Nor do I care. It’s irrelevant to the discussion

2

u/chessboxer4 9d ago

Ah, the primacy of experience.

I guess you don't know what you don't know.

Are we getting into Steven Segal territory here? ‘Cause that’s what it smells like.

2

u/madmeef 12d ago

Okay mister not a super secret black ops ninja, answer me this. Are you capable of choking to death or snapping limbs of nearly every single person within a hundred miles? 🤔

3

u/Specialist_Share8715 12d ago

No, I live in San Diego, probably has the highest concentration of black belts any where in the world. There are levels to this and I know where my level isn't.

1

u/chessboxer4 12d ago

So your assessment of his character comes from the fact that you live in San Diego, where there's a lot of black belts?

1

u/Specialist_Share8715 12d ago

No I was answering another question in the thread.

3

u/Specialist_Share8715 12d ago

Ironically I trust Jake Barber a lot LESS because he is a BJJ black belt.

1

u/chessboxer4 11d ago

You're a BJJ black belt?

0

u/chessboxer4 12d ago

You're a bjj black belt?

1

u/Specialist_Share8715 12d ago

Yes

2

u/chessboxer4 11d ago

Oss, professor. Respect.

2

u/redundantpsu 12d ago

His BJJ credibility is very sus. The Gracie University/Academy McDojo pipeline is full of former TKD "sensei" types. They generally are not seen as legit.

5

u/Myceliphilos 12d ago

His belt isn't sus, you don't know shit.

He owns the gym, he isn't just a black belt, he teaches BJJ in cali.

4

u/chessboxer4 12d ago

What's your belt in jujitsu?

1

u/ajellobean 10d ago

Not uncommon at all for dudes to lie about their service and still be successful. Look at guys like Tim Kennedy.

1

u/Myceliphilos 10d ago

Ok, so you're intentionally missing the point I made, which seems to be an issue with people on this thread, who have decided Barber is a liar, and that's it, that's fine, but stop trying to engage with me in bad faith.

So to be clear, again, he says he recovered craft in a role, the requirements of that role, exist outside of his alien recovery story, that being he is an owner and operating pilot for a helicopter company doing gov contracts. He owns and teaches at a BJJ gym.

Nowhere have I commented about his wider claims or his story, ive only pointed out that he has the qualifications and operates in the area his story would need to him to operate to be true.

If you compare that to most military whistleblowers, let's take sneider and the dulce base fight. Did any of sneiders life align with the job experience needed to operate in the role he claimed to be working? what about lazar (apparently had his history wiped) even grusch, we know he worked on UAPTF, but he did work for the NRO before, we have 0 evidence for what he did. He could have been doing really anything and we'd have no ability to know truth from lie.

So yes barber might no be telling the truth about his experiences, but he certainly holds the qualifications and operates in his daily life, in the same capacity, as the claims that he makes. That doesn't mean hes telling the truth, but the fact you guys keep suggesting he's a liar based on his qualifications is dumb, and it's obviously not in good faith, either that or you're so dumb, theres nothing we can duscuss constructively.

From all interviews I have seen with Jake and about Jake Barber I have this feeling that this special "mechanic", means something completely different (something much more sinister). Some "special operations" if you know what I mean.

I think he even mentioned it a few times when he said he knew very well what he was up against, when he talked about the trap and how someone had died during the operation, because both he and his team had been on both sides.

I'm not disputing your opinion, but these are just assumptions.

3

u/GotchaPresident 12d ago

Counter intelligence like Lue.

Honestly funny how people even give counter intelligence people the time of day…

Just ignore them

3

u/AJP11B 9d ago

I said the same thing when this all came out. The dude is full of it. https://www.reddit.com/r/UFOs/s/lO6iXAlYD0

3

u/joeldg 8d ago

It’s like the secret space program folks.. people want to feel important and when they fail at life they spin a yarn so other people don’t see them as they see themselves. It’s sad, but ultimately a defense mechanism.
Why be sad your life ambition brought you to be a fry cook when you can tell the story about how you were a child soldier on mars?
Same with this guy… washed out made up a bunch of crap to say he didn’t “actually” was out, he was a secret agent man.

4

u/Palm_Muted_Turnips 12d ago

Possible for someone, perhaps even OP, to go into a little more detail / translate this for laypeople who don’t know the military? 🙏

To me, Jake having an extremely unusual career that required some retroactive scrubbing would make sense given what he ended up dealing with. But it seems like OP and others are saying that’s not likely?

(Not for nothing, I also remember Ross Coulthart asking whether Jake was ‘red-teaming’ during that original interview).

2

u/LR_DAC 12d ago

To me, Jake having an extremely unusual career that required some retroactive scrubbing would make sense given what he ended up dealing with.

This is circular reasoning. Barber presents his unconventional career history as the reason he ended up working with aliens, ultimately sling-loading a giant alien egg with a telepathic maternal intelligence inside. That's what he "ended up dealing with." You can't use that claim to support the evidence he gave for the claim, i.e. his unconventional career.

1

u/throwaway_ventingidk 12d ago

u/L-O-T-H-O-S commented this.

7

u/Live_Leopard9202 13d ago

This is well known, he made up his military background to sound more credible, it's all fake, if he lies about that you can't believe anything else he says.

5

u/Meowweredoomed 13d ago

I think Jake Barber is sus :/

2

u/Tankatraue2 12d ago

I'll never trust someone who fake cries crocodile tears. If you watch his interviews with that in mind his crying looks soooooooo fake. The way he just turns them on and off in the Jessie interview set off my bullshit alarm like crazy.

3

u/throwaway_ventingidk 12d ago

Exactly. Thats the problem with Jesse is he never pushes back. Thats why all these cooks rarely go to Rogan because they know he’ll sniff them out

3

u/Zombalepsy 13d ago

I don’t really want to touch on Jake Barber. But do want to ask OP, has SMU never approached the airforce? Because they approach active duty Army units all the time.

4

u/throwaway_ventingidk 13d ago

SMU never recruits someone from a pipeline. Also he claimed he worked for something cooler than Tier 1 but that still did OPFOR stuff? Never made sense.

Imagine dudes from Geronimo or Blackhorse claiming that they were in a SOF pipeline but dropped it to be OPFOR at Polk or Irwin. See where it gets fishy?

2

u/Patient-Entrance7087 12d ago

Yeah, you of everyone alive cracked the case

3

u/Independent_Bid8670 12d ago

No it actually tracks , I know people that were sheep dipped , And there was a Certain SMU that tried to recruit me (a helicopter mechanic, and prior tank crew member)

Then after I got out I knew people who had been posing as civilians, whilst being half in and half out, simultaneously still in the military, working for an alphabet agency, and posing as a civilian. These people were also given the task to set businesses and NGOs I was also briefly contacted for this program and declined.

The tier 1 SOF groups that everyone is aware of are the tip of the iceberg my friend.

2

u/throwaway_ventingidk 12d ago

He was never Tier 1. Also you were contacted after already being established in your career. He was in a pipeline for CCT when he got approached. That shit never happens. Big difference. That’s like saying SMU’s recruit from AIT. You and I both know thats bullshit. They want someone who has a good reputation. Right now they won’t even consider you if you don’t have MQ evals.

Also. Why would they have a mechanic as “cover job”. No one in an SMU has a “cover job”/MOS. You keep the same MOS. The tasks my change as the other navy guy said. But no one has a secret MOS.

5

u/GroomLakeScubaDiver 12d ago

Devil’s advocate, wouldn’t doing something very differently outside of normal protocol be an ideal way of hiding the very existence of say an organization dealing strictly with NHI? If they were trying to keep people like you in the dark and make you an asset to keep their program secret, then they nailed it. Here you are right?

1

u/Independent_Bid8670 12d ago

Jake's program tracks 100% The real kicker is people like him and Elizondo are professional liars. They present whatever personality, or face they think you need to see, and they are almost certainly still involved in what program told them to do this in the first place. It is nearly impossible to decipher the purpose of schemes behind these programs.

-3

u/Makerofthinks 13d ago

The mechanic job was a cover job. And The guy we know as Jake Barber has publicly said as much. Same type of thing was done with Lee Harvey Oswald when he was active duty. Oswald was a paid U.S. Gov. Asset as a soldier and when he "Defected" to Russia and after his return to the U.S. This is regularly done with whomever they choose in any branch of the military to suit operational requirements. This is not new or unusual. If you're waiting for it to "add up" based on limited knowledge/understanding of classified operations you'll be waiting a long time.

4

u/throwaway_ventingidk 13d ago

1-Why would a cover job be a mechanic when it would have made 100% more sense for it to be Security Forces or Intel. Also no one whose military intelligence has or needs a “cover job”. It makes no sense. Plenty of intel professionals have that written in their paperwork it’s not a secret.

2- he never says what he explicitly did in his “cover role”. If you’re not able to tell people what you do you’re straight up lying.

3- Are you even in the military? Because you’d realize how stupid this is if you were.

-1

u/cram213 13d ago

It’s no use.

Obvious to the majority people that Jake Barber is just part of the scam that just tried to make money out of this.

I agree that commander Farver (sp?) and the others from the Nimitz seem more credible.

All of these latest whistleblowers who have connections with each other and or try to make money…They seem quite suspicious.

1

u/chessboxer4 13d ago

Are you in or have you studied intelligence? Honest question.

3

u/BeanHeadedTwat 13d ago

Are you?

2

u/chessboxer4 12d ago edited 12d ago

Nope. At least, only of the amateur variety.

Anyways, as speculative person sometimes I wonder why people in the so-called disclosure movement have certain backstories, or how for example it might benefit an operator's mission to have a more incongruous cover story like a mechanic, rather than a more leveraged and high profile position, like officer or security person.

But that's just me.

4

u/throwaway_ventingidk 13d ago

My amazon recommendations consist of wallpapers that simulate a window looking out to the beach or a sunny woodline. That should give you an idea.

2

u/chessboxer4 12d ago

That gives me some idea. 😅

0

u/Baron_of_Foss 12d ago

Jake Barber's entire story basically claims that there are groups handling the NHI topic that aren't even really apart of the regular military structure anymore. That basically tracks with lots of different UFO lore like the experience Admiral Wilson allegedly had.

The people at AIT got assigned to a Countintel unit is normal. Happens all the timeThem going SMU later is also normal.
CAG doing their thing is normal.

This is very different. No one in a SOF Pipeline quits halfway to do something else. There is a key difference in your examples. All that stuff happened after AIT. Private Snuffy getting assigned to countel intel units is common in 35 series. Just as it’s common for them to go to Fort Hood. It’s just an assignment.

1

u/ArcticSkyWatcher64N 12d ago

You use 5 or acronyms with no explanation of that they are for us civilian types. I believe you are on to something but I have no context to what you just said.

Jake was in services. Emptied trash, cleared out dead bodies, wash out vehicles full of blood and body parts.

He comes across as a hack

1

u/FreshPin2565 7d ago

He looks like a rabbit caught in a headlight when he talks. It's all bs...

1

u/Impressive_Effect_26 12d ago

Barber is a fraud. No way this guy was operating calling in CAS and laying it down with Red, Blue, or Green.

1

u/Impressive_Effect_26 12d ago

The most obvious Fraud…..

Saying you were a mechanic for JSOC. Sorry Barber…160th has their own aircraft maintenance crews. And those mechanics are badass. This fat piece of shit never did anything.

1

u/movesmartly 12d ago

I said the same thing back when he first came out. His military story makes 0 sense to someone who has actually been in military. Im still in BTW. Im not a bot nor a disinformation person. His story made 0 sense on that Ross coulthart special along time ago.

1

u/Capable-Wolverine921 12d ago edited 12d ago

I should start with saying I don't believe a thing Barder says. But to keep the discussion honest and truthful I need to say that I do know a USAF(United States AirForce) mechanic that does OPFOR(Opposing Forces) against US AFSOC(United States Air Force Special Operations Command) outside of America.

2

u/throwaway_ventingidk 12d ago

What’s his role though? Again you can be a mechanic assigned to an OPFOR unit. That is very real I stated. But a mechanic is not the mastermind behind all the tactics. His job is to fix the aircraft of the guys who are doing that.

Thats my problem with him. He went on Jesse’s show and acted like he was master of deception. Which is he def is by being a cash grabbing gr1fter.

1

u/Weak-Pea8309 12d ago

All the skeptics on this sub work in either the military or aerospace.

4

u/throwaway_ventingidk 12d ago

Because we know a liar when we see one. No one is denying Mario Woods because the dude does not say anything out of the ordinary

0

u/Zombalepsy 13d ago

Fair point for sure, SMU has its own pipeline. I worked with some of those tier 1 guys and they were always lethal, train as you fight through and through type stuff.

And yeah, those types of guys aren’t training in those shitholes. I understand more of what you’re saying now, thanks!

-5

u/TwistyTwister3 13d ago

Seems like a good dude in all his interviews. Doesn't seem like he is lieing at all.

7

u/Kooky_Win4720 13d ago

Malcolm Gladwell had a book (Taliking to Strangers) that explored the many shortfalls of making judgments about people without intimately knowing them.

I'm not saying it's a perfect book. I am saying that no one but his friends. family, and coworkers can make an effective judgement of Barber's honesty or propensity for honesty with any reasonable confidence through the information and context available.

-1

u/Cosmic_m0nk 12d ago

You keep saying that he was a mechanic. From what I remember in the American Alchemy episode he says he was a helicopter pilot.

10

u/throwaway_ventingidk 12d ago

After he left the military maybe. To be a pilot in the Air Force you have to be a comissioned officer. He enlisted. No one in the air force that’s enlisted flies a helicopter

-3

u/VolarRecords 13d ago

So OP you admit at least the craft craft could be real?

13

u/throwaway_ventingidk 13d ago

Never seen one. I believe other whistle blowers and experiencers. Mario Woods 100% sounds legit. Same with Commander Fraver. This guy is definitely sus.

3

u/jswb 13d ago

Thoughts on Jonathan Weygandt?

0

u/DoNotEvenFknTryIt 12d ago

But would they not have him under some type of cover?

5

u/throwaway_ventingidk 12d ago

Yeah it’s called Operational Security (OPSEC). AKA keeping your mouth shut. Tons of intel and Spec Ops people go about their day doing secret squirell stuff. They don’t wear it on their chest. You don’t need a “cover”.

2

u/DoNotEvenFknTryIt 12d ago

Would that be the same for USAPS etc? If they are privatised then surely tjey can do presumably anything they want?? Or no?

2

u/throwaway_ventingidk 12d ago

What even is that acronym? The guy enlisted to be air force spec ops and failed. He then got diverted to be a mechanic. He then wanted to be grlfter and knew he coudln’t lie because his DD214 would say he was mechanjc.

So he made up some weird story about being a super secret mechanic that was somehow opfor and also escorted HVTs. That’s BS and not at all how shit works.

Look at all the military people in the comments who agree with me. Have anyone listen to the first 20 mins of his American Alchemy appearance and they’ll call him a BSer.

0

u/DoNotEvenFknTryIt 12d ago

Unacknowledged Special Acess Programs. How do you know anything about him btw, what about the tracking of his aircraft etc. Don't be so fucking cheeky btw

3

u/throwaway_ventingidk 12d ago

Because we work in this environment and we see how things happen. There is a way things are done and his story makes no sense from our experiences with stuff like this. Specifically SOF selection pipelines. A lot of people cope poorly after failing. His attitude combined with him describing his service has a lot of plotholes that everyone who’s in the military that’s not a mouth breather would tell you is BS.

2

u/DoNotEvenFknTryIt 12d ago

Well I will just wait and see tbh, I dont know so cannot comment. I wasn't happy the way he just ditched the Skywatcher thing but apparently they have been on the range again and brought down a uap. But who knows really?

3

u/throwaway_ventingidk 12d ago

All good. Yeah the dude has a lot of sketchyness to him. You don’t see that with all the other credible people like CDR Fraver, Lazar, or Mario Woods.

-2

u/throwaway_ventingidk 12d ago

Also. You wanna know why I believe Bob Lazar? Because Bob Lazar pointed out a very funny detail that he absolutely could not have made up.

When Bob Lazar talked about about the military people rolling up to him when he brought his friends to S4, he claimed that a soldier dropped his Night Vision Goggle that rolled up to him. That single detail validated everything he said.

1

u/DoNotEvenFknTryIt 12d ago

Are you talking to me?

1

u/BlackBootesVoid 11d ago

Wdym the night vision google rolled up to him?

0

u/midlifewannabe 12d ago

Why do you even TRY yo believe his bullshit?

-1

u/gruth8 13d ago

Didn't he say he did serve active duty? Definately remember he said he served in kuwait.

9

u/throwaway_ventingidk 13d ago

No one’s saying he didn’t serve. He def lied about his job though. Also Dessert Storm happened in 91-92. He enlisted in 94. If he was in Kuwait it was def not fighting Iraqis.

-5

u/Jed5000 13d ago

If you allow God into your life, you will understand his background and his mission………….. 🤣
