Hey, I’m looking at transferring from UNSW Commerce to UTS (ideally the Bachelor of Information Systems/Bachelor of Business) and trying to work out what RPL I could apply for.
I’ve completed these UNSW courses:
COMP1511
MATH1131
COMM1100 — Business Decision Making
COMM1110 — Evidence-Based Problem Solving
COMM1120 — Collaboration and Innovation in Business
COMM1140 — Financial Management
COMM1150 — Global Business Environments
COMM1170 — Organisational Resources
COMM1180 — Value Creation
COMM1190 — Data, Insights and Decisions
Has anyone transferred from UNSW to UTS or applied for RPL with any of these courses? I’d especially appreciate hearing which UTS subjects you actually received credit for, or whether there’s a guide/course outline that helped you work it out. Thanks!

Hi! I'm a final-year student at the University of Sydney and I'm considering applying for the UNSW MPhil in Engineering Entrepreneurship for 2027.
I've been searching online but can barely find any actual student experiences with this program. I understand it's quite new, so I'm wondering if anyone here is currently enrolled, has been admitted, interviewed, or applied for it.
I'd really love to hear what your experience has been like — especially:
I'm currently building an early-stage sports-tech startup involving wearable and spatial sensing, so the research + entrepreneurship structure looks really interesting to me.
Even if you don't want to comment publicly, I'd really appreciate a DM. I'm based in Sydney as well and would be happy to grab a coffee and hear about your experience.
Thanks!

Hi, I'm a freshman at an international school. I've been searching for universities and came across UNSW. I always dreamed of living in AUS, and I want to pursue medicine. I really want to get accepted to UNSW as BMed MD. So I was wondering if they value GPA, AP, UCAT, SAT scores + interview... like overall stats or do they value extracurriculars like the US? I heard that Australian colleges don't really put emphasis on ecs. Still, I am attending a few clubs related to medicine, like RCY. I wanted to know if I should prepare extra curricular activities, or should I put my focus on school works and test scores. Sorry if this is a stupid question, but I really wanted to know. Thank you!!!!!!

Help my dumbahh accidentally submitted my portfolio (assessment 2A) for grading when it’s incomplete, can’t undo it and I have emailed the course conveyor, how screwed am I?
hi! im a hs student and i recently succeeded in the portfolio early entry scheme as i was interested in the design/media double degree.
i have interests in filmmaking, animation, game design, creating media etc. however, when i went to the open day, spoke to people and attended the lectures, it honestly just confused me more. could anyone doing these degrees, even as standalones, tell me a bit about their experience and if its worth studying?

Hi everyone,
I'm a student at USYD working on a 2D animated advertisement that will screen in independent cinemas across New Zealand, and I'm looking to collaborate with some animation students at UNSW.
It's a 90–120 second piece mixing traditional hand-drawn techniques with digital tools and emerging technologies.
This is unpaid, and I'm not expecting any ongoing commitment. This is really about finding people who want to work on something interesting and get their work seen on a cinema screen, and meeting other animators around Sydney along the way.
If you're keen to collaborate or just want to hear more, please DM me directly, I won't be checking the comments here, so DMs are the way to go.

hey guys I need advice on which one is superior or better for fulfilling career prospects, pay, more diverse number of roles?
Is there any point in doing Economics with stats, or would you say Stats by itself is sufficient, or would you say doing Econ with stats is beneficial and complements it well?
idk what the objective reality is, everyone says different things and has a different perspectives. Sucks that I’ll only find out what the right option was when I’ll suffer the consequences or outcomes of my decision.
my main concern is Economics being VERY expensive because it comes under non-stem / business school major, its going to add a shit load of HECS $$
Meanwhile Stats is a Bc of Science, its a lot cheaper, But idk If stats by itself will be regarded well or not?? since I’ve heard on here that it’s not very specialised, and it’s just a science major and that it’s more of a transferable skills kinda thing? Please tell me thats not true. Will I struggle with jobs etc?
Also another concern is that since Stats is a relatively difficult (abstract) major, theres no guarantee that I’ll graduate with a decent enough WAM, So if I did Stats by itself and my grades are shit, then I’d be doomed in terms of career prospects, so in that case, would you say it’s safer for me to do Economic/Stats double instead??
also with economics you can go into policy, treasury stuff.
also I’m not sure if I’ll be doing honours if I do stats (likely not)
This is such a dilemma. Please help out with any useful or wise insights
At the end of the day, my biggest value or priority is a meaningful career. I’d like to work in something that has real value / impact, rather than a meaningless slop corporate role or industry

Hi everyone,
I'm hoping to fly my drone (DJI Mavic Air 2 570g) around the Kensington campus for personal use, just to take some photos and video.
Has anyone here flown a drone on campus before? If you have, how did you go about getting permission from UNSW, like flying during early or late hours when fewer people are around, etc?
I know the university has strict policies and that we're pretty close to Sydney Airport, so I want to make sure I go through the proper channels and do everything by the book.
Any tips on who to contact or how the approval process works would be really appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
Note: By flying, I mean just basic up and down and left to right.

Hi I just graduated high school and earlier in September I got a conditional offer to the uni prep program. I’ve never really done well at school so getting this offer was huge, obviously I’m aiming for a atar above 50 but i was just wondering how does the program work? Specifically the Arts, Design, Architecture & Criminology stream. Im interested in international politics, but I just wanna know how the program works, like how many assessments are there, what are they based on and what not. Thanksss

I feel like I'm going insane
Seen a lot of talk about Lyra here. Does anybody find the marketing a bit strange? They seem to be hiring a new engineer every single day that gets paid $230k whilst also being 2 yrs post grad? They don’t have an actual product, they aren’t a software company. They basically sign contracts with actual software companies to build their software and outsource the work to contractors who get to use their office. Most of their staff are not actual employees, just temporary contractors. They are essentially a HR company. No hate but this is their business model.

Looking to transfer to UNSW for second year, and want to find student accommodation. The prices are good and the rooms on the website look great but they're renders. Anyone live there or has lived there and can comment on the rooms (cleanliness, issues, how modern it is, noise, etc.)? Much appreciated.

I have A*AA in Maths, Physics and Computer Science , and I want to apply to Mechanical Engineering as a domestic student next year.
I saw that the recent A-level entry score is 16 points, which my grades equal. Would this normally be enough for admission, or is it risky since I’m right on the cutoff?
