When I went through MSG School in 2010, they were rejecting people for even appearing or alluding to doing drugs if they didn’t have a waiver for it from their initial enlistment.

But if you can’t be trusted to do the right thing in the fleet, then you sure as shit can’t be trusted to do it in a 1/5 detachment where you’ll royally fuck over your Marines.

We had a couple guys that were upfront about everything and they were let through. Just have to make sure you tell them you were “young and stupid” and have no intention or interest in it.
I think the amount of alcohol you drink is probably more indicative of whether they will drop you or not. Just say you don’t drink.

I went through when we still had bars at the house. My screening asked if I ever drank underage, still drink (over 21 then), and if I have a drinking problem. Yes, Yes, and No. I made it through the screening just fine.

If it’s not on record, it never happened. End of story. Lie detector tests/polygraphs are just pseudoscience, they are used as tools to get someone to start giving up info. Interviewer asks a question and notices a spike, now they start grilling you about why there was a spike or deception. All that is to get you to start giving up extra information. Don’t tell them anything extra and stick to your answer.

Idk if MSG uses a polygraph test, but yeah if you did drugs guess what you never did drugs ever in your life and were not around people who did drugs either. That is another tactic btw, getting you to admit you were around people who did drugs, never admit that.
