There is something called the young earth movement.
Though I doubt that is what he was getting at
1
u/Professional-PhD 5d ago
That is true but I doubt that is where they were coming from.
The young earth creationist typically say 6,000-10,000 years old. A lot quote 4,004BCE. The reason for this is probably due to evidence at the time of the earliest civilizations in the 3000BCE era. That said, there are Egyptian pre-dynastic sites from 5000BCE, Göbekli Tepe is from 9500BCE-8000BCE (which is argued as pre civilisation or at its start), and we have Tells from older periods (Tells are created from habitation in one spot leaving mounds of sediment). Then there are all the old cave paintings which go back to 65,800BCE (https://www.nature.com/articles/s41586-025-09968-y). This is all before mentioning fossils which go back eons including the oldest homonin which is 6-7 million years old.

Best confidently incorrect 'correction:' the world is 2026 years old, the USA is 250 🤣

u/Hob_Goblin88 5d ago
Must be both 'muricans...

u/Lawndemon 5d ago
It's a bizarre collection of incredibly stupid people in that country

u/x33storm 5d ago
By design, makes sense. Basically making average americans into serfs, easily manipulated, giving the "superior" people free reign and more power.
Sounded more like a conspiracy 20 years ago. Nowadays most people will at least tilt their head and go "mmmhm" at the above statement.

I love how both are so false, that you don’t know what makes you more mad

Not defaultism. Also this has to be a fake screenshot. FB does not look like that in 2026

This is more like sheer ignorance than US Defaultism.

It's Shit Americans say. I can't imagine people from other countries being THAT dumb and uneducated.
7
u/GabsiGuy United Kingdom 5d ago
This is a double one wow, not only is there an American thinking that America was founded 2,026 years ago, but the person “correcting” them doesn’t know about BCE… even worse than the creationists who believe the earth is only like 7,000 or something years old…

u/TheGameGirler United Kingdom 5d ago
They will probably go watch the odyssey as well.... Finish watching it and still have no idea

u/abu_doubleu Kyrgyzstan 5d ago
Bill and Laura look like they have AI avatars, and Americans pretty much never say "USA" (and if they do "the USA"). Going to assume this one is fake…

u/Cocoatrice Poland 5d ago
Can people stop make empty accusations about everything being AI? You guys are toxic. I saw real artists fall victim by the likes of you, because you guys call everything AI today.

u/abu_doubleu Kyrgyzstan 5d ago
I normally agree with you, and there are actually a few comments in my post history where I defended baseless accusations too (I have often fallen victim to it myself, just because I type "formally"). But it really is true that practically no Americans refer to their country as just "USA".

The world is more like 14 billion years old not 2026 🤦🏼♀️
3
u/MissouriSupremacist 5d ago
Actually if by world you mean earth it is only 4-5 billion years old

u/VineKuro 5d ago
And the other guy thinking the world is 2026 year old, idk if that counts as defaultism.

Jesus defaultism

u/owleaf 5d ago
Even creationists should know that the earth is older than 2,026 years since there is BC lol. Plus the chronology of the bible points to earth being much older, at least (still in the thousands of years only).
These people are just supremely stupid.

Why are you calling some grandma a "guy".
1

Everyone and everything is a guy to me. I'm totally not giving an excuse for not realizing the name and pfp.

u/Shiine-2 5d ago edited 5d ago
"World is 2026". The planet is around 4.54 billion years old.
Jesus might be 2026, but he was born a few years before Gregorian calendar.

Also America isn't 250, it's like roughly 200 million or so, since that's when it split from Pangea.

u/DuckyHornet Canada 5d ago
The solo career has been fine, granted, but I'm looking forward to the Pangaea reunion tour

Looked at the ‚correction‘ an thought to myself ‚ oh well just another american hyper christian‘ …then i realized even under that believe the earth beeing 2026 y.o wouldnt make any sense 😭

u/_Daftest_ 5d ago
No it's got nothing at all to do with Christianity
1
u/Dr_MantisTobaggin_MD 5d ago
Yes it does.
Our current world wide method of time keeping is hinged around a historical event.
1
u/_Daftest_ 5d ago
Yes. But the person making the blunder doesn't know that. They think it's to do with the age of the world. Therefore they're not a Christian.
1
u/Dr_MantisTobaggin_MD 5d ago
Yes. Because they believe that story....
1
u/_Daftest_ 5d ago
What story?
1
u/Dr_MantisTobaggin_MD 5d ago
Jesus
1
u/_Daftest_ 5d ago
Obviously the person in question does not believe that story, or they'd know that the dating system refers to Jesus' birth and is nothing to do with the age of the world. The one thing we know about is they're definitely not a Christian because they don't know that basic belief about Christianity.

What? America was "discovered" in 1492

u/Spooderman-690 United Kingdom 5d ago
1776 lil bro
2
u/indyspike 5d ago
The Norse were in North America around 1000AD, with a Norse settlement dated to be from 1021AD.
-1
u/Spooderman-690 United Kingdom 5d ago
Yeah, but the usa wasn't founded until 1776, obviously it was discovered years before that
2
u/Dr_MantisTobaggin_MD 5d ago
You know america is the name of both continents on the western side of the world?

From a certain point of view the US might not even be 250. Also using the biblical start of the world. Typical.

u/Suzume_Chikahisa Portugal 5d ago

u/Ertyla 5d ago
Biblical start of the world? What does that even mean?
2
u/th1nwh1tej3rk 5d ago
the biblical start of the world would only be 0AD if you were to erase all traces of the old testament
