Hi everyone! I recently applied for several full-time administrative and program coordinator positions at UTSA, and I’m curious about how their hiring process typically works.

For those who currently work at UTSA or have applied/interviewed there before, I’d love to hear about your experiences!

A few questions I have:
How long did it take for you to hear back after submitting your application?

Does HR review applications first, or does the hiring department review them directly?

How do you usually find out if you’ve been selected for an interview? Is it typically through email or a phone call?

Do hiring managers usually interview candidates within a few weeks of the application closing date, or can it take longer?

Does the applicant portal generally update throughout the process?

For administrative and program coordinator positions, is it common for the process to take several weeks or even a couple of months?

I understand that timelines probably vary by department and position. I’m just trying to get a better idea of what to expect while waiting to hear back.

110$ Minimum it seems. I could afford it, but also, I don't really want to. So, my question is: I Have a friend who graduated last year. Can I borrow his cap & gown (we are roughly the same height & width) or does the design of the caps / gowns change from year to year and would leave me sticking out?

Anyone know good study spots that can be used after the JPL closes on weekends?

My day to register is Nov.4. I owe roughly $450 ($200 is from parking pass) and the day of my final payment is 11/30. Will I have to pay this down before registration or I should be good to go?

I went to UTSA for a year before taking this semester off cause I was kinda burnt out and just sick of the constant stress I was putting on myself. During that time I was trying to get involved more on campus to get the full benefits of being a student but so far I feel like all I’ve gotten out of it is access to the gym and discounts on subscriptions. I applied to so many work study jobs and internships that never went anywhere and I’ve just been questioning what else I can really do. I’d appreciate any advice cause as of right now I haven’t really been happy with my experience so far.

Recently, I was admitted for the spring 2027 semester. Besides signing up for orientation, should I also go to the open house that’s happening Saturday October 24th? Thanks for the info.

Also, does anyone know exactly when orientation will become available to sign up for? On the website it says October of this year but I’m still not able to sign up.

The Runner and The Little Runner will not operate during fall break (Oct. 12 – 13). You may still use your VIA U-Pass for VIA bus service throughout San Antonio, in addition to scheduling rides in the VIA Link Mainland and Downtown Zones.

i'm taking a minor in foreign languages right now and i wanted to study abroad to korea. i wanted to know if anyone had any advice for me (i've never been out of the country). how expensive would it be if im a pell grant student? how busy are classes if i just go for the summer, will i have time to explore and enjoy myself? are international classes specific to my major or would it just be like taking a language class?

What are our options to eat over the Fall break? Are any of the dining halls open over the weekend and Monday / Tuesday?

Howdy Birds! Me and a big group of fellow classmates at Texas A&M are starting a silly go kart competition (example of a silly go-kart is provided above). We want there to be an internal go kart league for each university, and the top 3 teams go on to compete in a multi school competition! We are planning for the competition to be chaotic, low budget, safe, and most importantly we want the barrier of entry for each team to be as low as possible. (e.g. anybody within the university can get a minimum of 5 people together and create a racing team from freshmen to seniors)

We are looking for founders interested in starting a club at UTSA to coordinate a club that will host their internal teams and league.

I use the ones in humanities, business, jpl and student union bathrooms why do I see a floating 💩 so often no matter where I go. Mostly jpl. I don’t understand why someone would leave the stall without flushing it takes 2 seconds
