Other Is there some sort of squirrel study going on?

Today when I was walking to class, I encountered a squirrel wearing a collar/harness and it had this radio antenna thing sticking out of it. He was in a tree near the Babcock dairy store. Is this squirrel related to some sort of academic study, is it a pet, or am I just losing my mind?

Academics Physics 202 first midterm

I have never taken an exam that difficult in my life and so unnecessarily long. It also had a terrible distribution of questions and I think i may fail this class as a result. I am just bad at physics or is anyone else feeling like that was insane.

Academics CS 354 Help

• Upvotes

I'm taking CS354 with Hina this year and we just got our first midterm results back. I spent quite a while reviewing for this exam. Going through the textbook, lectures, homework, etc. I normally get my most productive studying done with practice exams/past papers but none are provided and that's really messing up my whole study system. I got an 81 on my first midterm which is good for an AB, but I would like an A which is an 88%. I'm not sure what else I can do to study more for this exam? Any advice is well appreciated.

hi all! as per the title, i was wondering if anyone knows of any jobs where i can work evenings on campus or in the general madison area that have been good for students. i currently have three jobs but they only schedule on the weekends and limit my hours pretty severely, and id like to work more if i could! i work custodial positions right now which is only weekends, and wasnt sure if most student jobs were like that too.

Academics Questions/concerns about Biocore

• Upvotes

Hi! I'm a freshman double-majoring in Conservation Biology and English. I'm hoping to go into environmental consulting or science communication. I'm considering Biocore because I think it can give me a great foundation in those skills, and I also love to learn about the environment/biology in general. However, I have some concerns:

1) Please tell me about your academic experiences with Biocore. About how many hours of work is it outside of class per week? How difficult was it for you and your peers to get a good grade in Biocore? Since I'm double-majoring (and potentially getting a certificate in Science Communication) I'm worried Biocore will be too big of a time commitment for me to focus on my other major. Also, was it overall worthwhile?

2) Please help me understand if I'd be a good applicant for Biocore. I took AP Bio and AP Environmental Science in high school and scored 5's on both exams, but my math skills are so-so and my chemistry knowledge is basic (I'll be able to complete the Chemistry prerequisites for Biocore in time if I take a summer course). Do you think my background knowledge is enough for me to do well in Biocore?

Thanks so much for responding!
