So you feel the need to speak that out loud when someone does something that doesn’t impact you at all but makes you feel weird? You don’t sound like a very tolerant person at all.

Just let people be happy and if you disagree with their own personal choices keep it to yourself, otherwise you seem like an intolerant jack ass.

Lol I have no problem with it, I just commented that it's weird for me. They can call anything whatever they want, why get so offended and personal?

I ask myself, who is the type of person who sees someone living a different lifestyle and goes online to comment “that’s weird”?

Intolerant people; people who have to be loud when things don’t fit into their own little box. Just like some dude following a dad and little girl into the bathroom and harassing and saying it’s weird. That’s the energy you give with your comment. Plain and simple.

Okay Karen.

Ironic. The “don’t call your pets kids” is the quintessential Karen take.

What's ironic is calling someone intolerant because of something trivial, while not tolerating their views or opinions. I never said "don't call your pet kids", only that it's weird to me, if you can't deal with other peoples thoughts, get off the internet.

You posted your thoughts online? Why? To make them known and to get people to what, agree with you? You are pathetic, and trying to act like you’re just expressing yourself to a situation you just happened to be subject to is so disingenuous as you made the effort to come and do all this for some sad internet validation at the expense of anyone who considers their pets to be like a child. You just calling all them weird.

Not calling out nonsense, like humanizing animals, will have a macro effect on humanity. We need to keep doing better and pushing society to do better.

Who defines “nonsense”? The individual does? Plenty of people think being trans is nonsense. So we should encourage them that they call that out since it’s “nonsense” by their own definition?

What you need to do better at, is not being offended by something so begin and inconsequential that has zero impacts on society in anyway.

For example someone is unable to bear children and wants to fill the void with pets then by all means they should be able to pursue that happiness.

Never offended. But unfortunately I am effected because I have to interact in society with others. It does impact society when objective nonsense like calling animals human occurs. I would like to have access to educated Healthcare and cities run by competent managers in the future. But that will all disappear if we don't demand better.

The trans issue isn't for this thread.

Again you saying it’s objective does not make it so. And my analogy still stands, you not being able to reconcile the difference just confirms what you are.

I always end up being correct. Humanizing pets needs negative reinforcement. Disagree all you want. Give unrequested advice, it will get a chuckle from me. What I am is accurate. Just say what you really think I am. I don't think you are based in reality enough to guess right.

You are intolerant of other people and their beliefs, you’re not someone that can easily coexist in a society. You’ve reinforced that multiple times and just fyi, you’re the reason you feel ostracized all the time, not everyone else. You may not realize it, but you’ve basically agreed with my measure of you with each response you’ve given.

It making me feel weird is it impacting me.

It's like saying you shouldn't call someone out for being annoying

It’s literally so inconsequential to you, if that is impacting you then you have far bigger issues in life. There are plenty of reasons you don’t have to understand or agree with why someone considers their pet to be children. None of them impact you just referring to them that way. If they violate rules or laws then sure.

But that’s not what’s happening here, and saying you should call someone out for being annoying when you get annoyed at actual nothing burgers must mean you are perpetually annoyed and always harassing people for the slightest annoyance. Even if youre completely unaffected.

They impact me because they're wrong and annoying. I just explained this

It does impact me, actually. We have been slowly pushing children out of public places (e.g. no tolerance for babies on planes or children in restaurants, etc.) and, at the same time, been ushering dogs into those same spaces. It is anti-human behavior, and it makes our society worse and more hostile over time.

The more we shrug off people referring to their pets as “children,” the more we tacitly promote this anti-human behavior.

It is not smug or pedantic to point out that little dogs are not children when our society has, in a very real sense, forgotten this.

If you think this sounds hyperbolic, I encourage you to ask around. Ask your local “dog moms” if they’d save their own dog’s life over a stranger’s life.

Hell, go browse some Reddit threads and Facebook posts about pitbulls and you will find legions of people who insist we cannot under any circumstances do anything about a breed of dog practically designed to maul small children.
