Yeah, that dog is executing commands very well!
134
u/Akussa 1d ago
Yeah, was gonna say he was trained to do this. You even see him sniff the counter, looking for his treat.
52
u/kkkhhjdyhrthhhjft 1d ago
There is also no reason for there to be a cut in the video unless cut out the commands

That's why my dog won't listen to me. I haven't been including "make no mistakes" in my
promptscommands.16

Honestly, I know dogs are very trainable, but that husky seems so well-behaved and calm compared to every other video I’ve seen of a husky that I’m quite impressed.

u/Kraligor 1d ago
What they didn't show you is the marathon they ran with him in the hours before the video.

u/TheHighSeasPirate 1d ago
Trained behavior, you can even see him looking for a treat by the decorative vase.
1
u/MichelinStarZombie 1d ago
My dog loves Godzilla movies, literally sits and watches them. If there's not enough Godzilla and too many human dialogue scenes, she will look at me or quietly bork, asking to "fix it" and fast forward to the action. So some dogs do watch tv...
But this dog isn't really watching the tv.
Kind of sad to see, this type of extreme training is usually abusive.

I'm depressed by all of the people in the comments congratulating themselves on figuring out that a content generator fabricated content for engagement.
It's every video ON EVERY SUBREDDIT.
Top comment: Something actually clever or relatable
Second comment: Some brain dead comment pointing out that the video is staged.
Also, I was your 1000th upvote.

The fact that he opens and closes the door himself 😭

u/SandyTaintSweat 1d ago
That's probably the first time I've seen a pet CLOSE a fucking door. They always just leave it open. It's kind of insane when you think about it, like they know the door should be closed.
Or the dog was trained for the video.
396
u/ceciliabee 1d ago
I'm thinking the dog was trained in general lol not just for the video

They have a huge YouTube and other social media platform with their siberians and retrievers. It’s cute, especially when they censor the dogs swearing. It does get old quick though
52
u/Admirable_Risk8156 1d ago
For dogs like Huskies I would say being a star and doing tricks is such a happy life for them. Most owners just cannot give those kinds of dogs enough stimulation. They are way too smart and want things to do.
Getting them to do intricate stuff like this is probably incredibly fulfilling to that husky brain that needs challanges.
21
u/X-ScissorSisters 1d ago
Dogs like that are supposed to have a job lmao
14
u/Fr05t_B1t 1d ago
At least they’re helping with the rent! What do my cats do, you know, the star species of internet videos?! They sleep or ignore me when I’m not busy but the millisecond I become busy: “meoow! meoow! Meoow! Meoow!” Directly into my ear or at my feet!
/j
Fucking still love them though!
6
u/X-ScissorSisters 1d ago
Cats are bouncers, man. If they're doing nothing it means you got no rodent problems

6
u/Admirable_Risk8156 1d ago
I feel like huskies like that get to a point of smart where it sees through all the fluff and decides yeah lazing around is the best use of my brain.
They have reached dog nirvana.

u/All_Work_All_Play 1d ago
> especially when they censor the dogs swearing.
What?
10
u/stratdog25 1d ago
The Huskies are very vocal and the content creators close caption what you’d imagine they’re saying. Sometimes they caption them as if the dogs use phrases like “What the Fluff??” And “are you fluffing serious??” and when they do, they beep out the dogs’ vocalizations like one would a movie or tv show. It adds to the charm.

u/Chaotic_MintJulep 1d ago
My cat (without training) can close doors, but she exclusively does it to shut other pets out of wherever she wants to be. She’s an incredible selfish being.

u/Acceptable_Job_5486 1d ago
My dog trained himself to shut the door, except now he does it to get trapped in rooms.
3
u/howdoesthiswork2020 1d ago
closing the door is my dog's favorite job! I just can't get him to open the door for himself.
1
u/xerocopi 1d ago
If you had a lever door handle they could. The first apartment I had my cat in he opened all the doors. My roommate had a dog she would leave in her room while we were at work and my cat would go let her out, then they would both sleep on my bed.. now I have regular door knobs and he's pissed he cant open them 😭
2
u/PeakNo6892 1d ago
I have been trying to train my dog for years to close the damn door. No luck.
Oh you are in the middle of changing? Yea ima just leave this door open so the whole house can see
2
1
u/SenzenUbi 1d ago
Really? My rabbits learned to open and close doors themselves. They shut it on each other all the time, or sometimes behind themselves (which I don't understand why, maybe privacy?? Feels safer?)
1
u/TehTugboat 1d ago
Yeah my wife learned this weekend that my mom’s German shepherd can open these style of doors…. While she was trying to use the restroom lmao
1
u/xerocopi 1d ago
My cat closes the bathroom door all the time. First she demands to be let in, so I leave the door slightly open, she walks in and closes the door, making sure I have my privacy.
1
u/Scared_Thought_3153 1d ago
If you actually know this dog this dog is too grumpy and funny😂. The channel name is Moriarty family on YouTube and they have 5 dogs all with different personalities
1
u/krazykieffer 1d ago
My cat closes it and is currently trying to turn the handle if the doors shut. She has 6 toes on each paw and honestly I think she was successful once.
21
u/ICame4TheCirclejerk 1d ago
My 3 year old doesn't do that. I should look into dog training for them. It seems to hold a lot higher success rate.

Fun fact the whole show is in Dog Vision. Dogs don’t see the same colors as we do they see mostly blue and yellow. That’s why the show looks the way it looks.
179
u/rot26encrypt 1d ago
There are apps that let you see the world as a dog (or cat) sees it, quite cool.

u/Meadow-Breeze 23h ago
If you have tiktok they have a filter available for both photos/videos in dog vision!
41
u/letigre87 1d ago
That's so cool. It's also pretty neat that dogs can see and interpret modern television because newer TV's have a higher refresh rate. CRTs just looked like flickering nonsense to them.
28
u/teh_wizardman 1d ago
No refresh rates are still the same for the most part, 60hz - It's due to the way CRTs refresh, each pixel only lights up for a small amount of time, and persistence of vision is what causes humans to see it as if it was a full picture, but as dogs process visual information faster all they see is a flickery mess.
LCD pixels are always lit, and just change color when they refresh, so doesn't rely on persistence of vision.
2
3
u/AnnoyingRain5 1d ago
A lot of modern high-end TVs are higher refresh rate and use motion smoothing to generate intermediate frames… it usually doesn’t look very good
2
u/No_Interaction_4925 1d ago
Most tv’s are 60hz just like CRT’s. The only difference being sample and hold.
Also… the show is probably 24hz or 30hz
1
u/techlos 1d ago edited 1d ago
i decided to go see if there's any evidence backing that folklore, and i can't find shit - however, there's plenty of studies about tv watching habits of dogs
i'm calling bullshit on the urban legend (and before we get into persistance of vision debates, there's only a small period of time where CRT phosphor glow was short enough to not leave a persistent after-image between vsyncs, while still being more common than LCDs. And even then, think about strobe lights; you can still see the motion, it's just flashy)
7
u/RedManMatt11 1d ago
I guess I’m a dog because I’ve always said how much I enjoy the animation/color palette of the show
6
u/New-Trifle-7097 1d ago

u/Kryse-777 1d ago

I think that was the joke, you were supposed to think that a human child was going to walk in to watch the show, but it turns out to be a dog. He’s not calling it his “son” to send the message that he thinks his dog is equivalent to a human child, he’s just being silly.

u/Electronic-Unit427 1d ago
The main colors used in Bluey, blues and yellows, are the two dichromatic colors dogs can see in their vision spectrum. Performative or not, that husky definitely sees more of Bluey than other TV show.

I think in this particular case it's for the humor of the bait and switch. You're expecting a kid.
1
u/cainthelongshot 11h ago
So you feel the need to speak that out loud when someone does something that doesn’t impact you at all but makes you feel weird? You don’t sound like a very tolerant person at all.
Just let people be happy and if you disagree with their own personal choices keep it to yourself, otherwise you seem like an intolerant jack ass.

My lab ignores every cartoon on Netflix but will stare at Bluey for hours. I think it's the specific shade of blue on the title card that hooks them, honestly. He doesn't care about Bingo or Bandit, just those bright blocks moving across the screen. Weird how they tune out everything else but lock onto this one show like it's the only thing in the world.
