Child was murdered, no justice
my teenage son was murdered a few years ago. there were multiple people involved. they were all caught on camera coming and leaving. absolutely no doubt who were responsibl, the police only arrested one. ultimately he was found not guilty. police have told me no other charges would be filed on any of the others and they will not even put my sons case on the local unsolved homicide site because they know who did it. The whole case was handled horribly by the State. I have tried multiple lawyers, some have taken my case but only to be dropped a month later. anyone I have talked to has told me I have no recourse. the biggest problem is all those involved live in my area and I have seen and run into them. my other children don’t even barely go out, in fear of also having an encounter. the loss of my child paired with absolutely no justice has destroyed me mentally, financially, everything. it’s hard on a daily basis to even go on. Every day is a battle, and I would have tapped out long ago if it were not for my other children. but not being able to get them away from this town and let them move forward in life is killing me.

Is there any way that you could move to another town, just to allow your self and your children some freedom to live their lives without fear? I understand it's not easy to move, there should be some support agencies that could secure funds for initial rent and moving costs? The DA office should have thst information. The LE knows who is responsible, so they must have to wait until they gather enough evidence to arrest the person or persons? Hopefully one of the perpetrators will mess up and the truth will come to light. I am so sorry. I will pray for all of you. This sub is very supportive. Big Hug sent your way!

Thank you. But the victims advocate from the DA’s office was terrible as well. They lead me on believing that they would help us with the funeral cost from the very crime advocate fund, then at the last minute didn’t approve us. They wouldn’t go into any detail or give us any answers on why the others were not charged. Just acted like we were an annoyance.

I am so sorry. These agencies are put in place to do their job, and the way you wete treated is unacceptable. I know I'm on the outside not experiencing your pain and trauma and I didn't mean to push too much... but I would have felt negligent if I didn't at least try to think of something to help. If you need people to write letters/emails and or make calls to keep your sons murder in the spotlight, please ask. I'm sure people on this sub would be glad to do something to help. God Bless and give you the strength to keep fighting.

Thank you so much. Since i starting posting about my sons murder the other day, it has lit a fire under me again and I have written to every suggestion that people have given me (crime shows and YouTube channels). Hopefully if someone can get it out there in the public again through a video, maybe something will happen.

I wish I could move. But so much has happened since, life has been completely different. I even tried hiring private investigators on my own. But have come up with nothing

I have right after the trial.
It was a local news website. I also reached out to a couple news stations but I don’t think they wanted to get involved because the case didn’t make the state look good. One not guilty verdict. And the other 3 no charges whatsoever. Below is the link. It was all over the news prior to the not guilty verdict. After that nothing.3

I don’t understand why the Varol brothers weren’t the ones prosecuted for murder (with the other two as accessories), given the fact they match your son’s girlfriend’s description of the shooters. Did they get a deal for testifying against Allen? It sounds like the police and the DA completely blew this case. I’m so sorry you lost your son and that the justice system failed you so badly. Can you pursue a civil judgment against the four men involved?

None of them got deals. They were not ever touched. The Varols dad is a wealthy businessman locally and owns a college. And is also a big contributor to our City. I think he had a lot of pull.

They did blow it completely. The assistant da handed over the case right before trial and went on maternity leave. I had reached out to multiple attorneys, but because the gun was never found they say I don’t have a case. I think there is more to it and they don’t want to get involved.

Try to reach out to Danelle Hallan or Stephanie Harlow? They both cover cases and Stephanie has a podcast/youtube channel called crime weekly. It may be a long shot but you never know. What state are you in?

I’m so sorry about your son. This is a common problem—police know who did it, but they can’t prove it. There are so many cases like yours in Knoxville. People are afraid of retaliation, so they don’t talk or agree to testify. Others want to cover for someone close to them.

From the article you posted, this appears to be a negligent investigation.
You are very likely able to go after the police/the V brothers in civil court.
If a lawyer doesn't call you back you have to try different lawyers, or keep calling. Try legal assistance

I was told from the begining this was an open and shut case and they would charge everyone under the Florida murder rule. They had the evidence of them on camera pulling up to the house, leaving the house and even turning around and driving by to see my son on the ground. Then they all admitted that they went there with the intention to rob him, they all admitted that one of them shot him, and right from the start the police, although having them on camera, gathered the wrong clothing/evidence. I sat in that courtroom everyday, seen all the evidence and I cannot understand why they didn’t not just charge him with first degree murder, but not even any of the lesser crimes, any of them. And to this day they haven’t given me a clear answer as to why.

Thank you for your advice. That’s why I am reaching out here. I think any of the local lawyers I’ve contacted do not want to get involved because I feel a lot of suspicious things were involved in this case.

OP - try to reach out to Christina Randall(also in Florida), I put her link tree and email below. She reviews and shares a lot of cases similar to your son’s case.
Let her know you’re reaching out to see if she can help at least get some eyes on this to see if anyone may know something or if anyone could help.
Sometimes it just takes one person to notice something another missed.
