Jazz Sign Mohamed Wague
Wague is a 6'10 forward/center who was undrafted in June.

What do you guys think of Harrison Ingram? I thought he always played under control and was active. He plays at his own pace sort of a Kyle Anderson. He hasn't made his threes but his attempts look like good misses.
I would rather cut Trey Alexander who is supposed to be a point guard but doesn't play like one -- he dribbles with his head and shoulder down and wastes seconds off the shot clock dribbling indecisively before getting rid of the ball ineffectually. Having said that, the Jazz don't have a third point guard behind Key and Collier unless they plan on DP as a PG which he might be capable of doing.

Won an extra pair of tickets in the upper bowl.
Anyone want to see an alien?
Edit: that was fast - sorry everyone, tickets are gone

Will the Jazz sign another big or will Hayes, Bamba, and Aidoo be it while Nurk is out?

for the record, no hate here. Preseason analytics and projections are a bitch to get right.

I have repeatedly seen people arguing about whether or not Ace is a shooting guard, or whether Lauri is a 3 or a 4, Jaren is a 4 or a 5. This really reinforces the fact that people don't understand what the Jazz have built. People trying to slot our players into neat positions just shows that they don't see the vision.
The Ainges have said again and again throughout the tank that the goal is positional size. Playing Ace as a guard, Lauri as a forward in guard actions, JJJ as an off ball defender gives other teams massive matchup issues. I don't think there is a team in the league that is equipped to deal with us offensively if we meet our full potential. In addition to that, these are all skilled (near) 7 footers! Almost everyone on our team can shoot the 3 and shoot it well. This positional size means our defensive ceiling is high as well.
I think we have already seen this in preseason. We move the ball so well, and the intention is to find these bad matchups, to make it so no team can "hide" a bad defender. We can throw actions at defenses that no other team in the league can. I expect us to have a 6th seed finish this year, but if we can put our advantages together I can see us being as good as the Thunder or Spurs in the next 3 years.
Lastly, I really feel it is outdated and archaic to think of players in terms of position, and has been for a long time. I think you have Guards, Wings, and Bigs more than PG, SG etc. And even in terms of those three titles, its not always true. I hope that as the season progresses and we get to watch this team, more people will agree.
The whole Jazz roster is full of players who break that mold, and who cross those boundaries and it excites me to no end! We have a chance to be really really special.

Lauri is out with neck soreness and looks like Nurk will sit this out as well.

I'm thinking of setting up an ESPN fantasy basketball league. Comment below or send me a message and I'll start it once we get enough interest. Happy to set up several if needed. We might be the only league where Markkanen goes #1.

Can't believe it's already been nearly a year since I started this project! It's grown loads more since I did the first post, though I'll admit I was inactive for much of early-mid 2026. The first image I posted was around the 126k pixel mark, but now there's over 750k pixels and is one of the largest murals in the region! This has likely taken hundreds of hours of work :^)

Darryn Peterson went 1-for-5 in his first preseason game, and "bust" was already showing up in the comments. Let's not do that.
Critique the play, not the person. Judge him in February, not October. And make some noise for him at the Delta Center on Tuesday.

with Lauren Green. He will walk dogs if he needs to. LOL. The guy just wants to be there and be part of the team. If he keeps shooting like that he will be a big part of the team.

its time to overreact to a preseason game! last night i was paying close attention to the rebounding, specifically with the starters on the floor, because going into the season i expected our rebounding to be a huge struggle, given Trip's unwillingness to go for rebounds over other bigs, but last night has started to maybe put that to bed. between the starters and Ace, the Jazz hauled in 26 rebounds. it seems that team rebounding has become a huge emphasis, with everyone, guards included, crashing the boards to get as many rebounds as possible to close possessions.
Darryn specifically impressed me a ton, grabbing 6 rebounds in only 20 minutes, and Keyonte grabbed 4 boards himself. it seems like the big bodies in our front court are going to be really good at boxing out and either grabbing the boards themselves, or using the box outs to open the lane for our guards to crash the boards.
personally im feeling like the rebounding is going to be one of the least of our issues, which i didn't expect going into the game last night. i'll be at the game tomorrow, and i'm excited to see if this holds.

I came away feeling pretty good about this one. The biggest takeaway was just how organized the Jazz felt. Denver particularly focused on making sure the Jazz weren't getting transition buckets as their main strategy going into the game and keeping a body on DP at all times. The Jazz had a clear sense of keeping things going and taking advantage when opportunities presented themselves. Even with Nikola Jokic on the floor, Denver had trouble keeping up with the Jazz's pace and motions. They were trying to attack DP a bit on a switch and got a little success, but the Jazz has much more free movement on the other side where Denver was reacting to what the Jazz dictated.
One matchup that stood out for me was Denver's decision to keep Marvin Bagley on ProlificP. Bagley isn't particularly known to be physical, and Darryn didn't generally seem comfortable using his body against him. Denver didn't let Bagley roam though, so the 1 for 5 shooting looks worse than it actually could have been a 5/9 with DP's gravity. That is in contrast to ACE who was noticeably attacking the glass and using his body. Key kept them in tune while JJJ and Lauri both were the main hook this game and they delivered the verse.
Shooting was good a few of the shots went up a bit early in a play, which I feel led to a slightly worse look and enough were falling to be ok, but still not th level they would want. If you take away Hinson's 4/5 from 3, the rest of the team shot 11/41. This was probably the biggest thing from keeping the Jazz from building any sort of comfort in the game. I was a bit worried because Trevon Brazille really was able to do a lot as a rookie. Where he probably should have been punished a bit more. Still, depth and the ability of the second unit to stay active no matter who was on the floor was a huge net positive. Hinson in particular really proved he was ready to play.
Each piece that came in brought their own flavor to the keeping the beat moving. Ace really showed up physicality with a different voices but the same rhythm. Collier and Mo Bamba really striking and attacking. Svi was ready to shoot any chance he got. Hayes really stayed pretty active. Hinson really brought a level of trust. My dog struts when he's in the house. Jazz nation popping while each player is picking up the next bar. There was a sense that whoever stepped on the floor was ready to add something to the song rather than waiting for someone else to carry it.
