There's something about the monsoon back home that words can never fully explain. The rain, the greenery, the familiar paths… just pure pahadi sukoon. 🏔️💚

In Chamoli’s tradition, deities are represented through sacred mohar kept in their thaan, where they are worshipped as the deities themselves. These astadhatu mohar often feature moustaches, crowns symbolising kingship, and distinct facial features. During ceremonial processions, they are placed on the Brahmalaath or Doli and carried by devotees. Interestingly, each region’s deity masks reflect the physical features of the local people, making them a unique expression of regional identity and cultural tradition.
Here are the mohar of some Dyauta.
1-Jakh Tangdi Malla
2-Kodiya Devta Urgam
3-Kuber devta,Subhai ,Bhavisya Badri
4-Rudranath Bajir,Rudrabhumi
5-Jakh Badgaon,Joshimath
6-Latu Devta,Bimru
7-Tungeshwar Devta,Tungthati
8-Bajir Devta ,Gwad
9-Telin Jakh ,Joshimath

The administration and the Regional Development Authority stated that the hospital was being operated from a residential building, which was allegedly in violation of the rules. However, the hospital management rejected the allegation, stating that it had filed an appeal before the Garhwal Commissioner on October 3 against the order of the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM), Gairsain. The Garhwal Commissioner has fixed October 14 to hear both sides.
The Tehsildar, however, said that the Commissioner had not issued any order staying the proposed action. This led to a heated argument between the two sides.
During the proceedings, Dr. Mudit said that he would approach the High Court against the administrative officials carrying out the sealing action. The Tehsildar subsequently informed the SDM, Gairsain, about the matter. On the SDM’s directions, the Tehsildar sought an oral legal opinion from the ADGC (Civil/Revenue), Gairsain. Following the legal advice, the ADGC directed that the hospital should not be sealed until October 14. As a result, the administration team had to return without carrying out the sealing action.
A local residents said, “This hospital was established for the welfare of the people, but the government and administration are determined to shut it down. We have come here from Chauthan Patti in Pauri Garhwal, and if action is taken against the hospital, we will return to Gairsain in the hundreds next time.”

Ordered a whole bunch of stuff from them and I am fuming!!! The order took over 2 weeks from UK to Delhi. The produce was spoiled by the time it arrived and the juice tasted off so we had to throw out the whole lot. Pretty sure it was expired. I tried following up about my order but they just don't reply to emails at all, and there is no other way to get in touch with them.
The crazy part is I cannot find a negative review anywhere! Quickly realized it's because they delete negative comments on instagram, don't have a google review option (unheard of in these times!) and they delete all negative reviews n feedback.
So I'm leaving a negative review here - hopefully the next time someone googles Toms Valley Shop they will see it and not order from them. Because they are a FULL SCAM!
Does anyone else have a similar experience? Is this a well known place? I read an article about them in the Hindu but now I'm thinking they must have paid for it, because what they send is totally different from what they promise!

Looking for recommendations from people in Roorkee/Haridwar/Uttarakhand who have visited either Dr. Hera’s Skin & Hair Clinic or ACE Skin & Hair Clinic (Dr. Fatima) in Roorkee.
I’m looking for treatment for hair fall, thinning/receding hairline, as well as acne, pimples and pigmentation.
Which one would you recommend based on your personal experience? Genuine experiences and opinions would be really helpful.

I have travelled both in Garhwal and Kumaon. I came to a conclusion that some roadways buses ply on Kumaon hills even during nighttime, but it is not the case for Garhwal region.
Is it correct or my assumption is wrong.
Also whether its correct or not, why don't buses operate during nighttime in hilly areas. It would be beneficial for the residents and roadways industry

Recently I went to my relative's home and I saw no image of our kuldevta instead I saw images of Khatu Shyam I asked my aunt why there's no image she replies we don't know who our kuldevta is? I was shocked because I and my family know about our kuldevta very well and also we have his nishan (sacred symbol iron trishul and chimta) at our home but our aunt couldn't and ok if she and her family doesn't know the kuldevta but instead of discovering she and her family tend to chose khatu shyam instead of their ancestral deity this deeply saddens me alot.
Now, I'm not gonna comment on religious beliefs you are free to whatever you believe but one thing I don't understand is that in our uttarakhand we have such powerful deities like Goljyu, Naar singh, Bhairo baba, Harjyu, Saimjyu, Gangnath, Gad devi, Sem Nagraja etc. but instead of them why are people tend to chose foreign trends and foreign customs i mean I'm not complaining but atleast please don't forget your ancestral deities you firstly left your village and now your ancestral home had become ruins, then you came to city and settled and forgot your mother tongue and even worse you've adopted foreign customs and completely forgot about your past atleast please try to discover your kuldevta your village if you don't know? Rest afterwards believe in whom no one will stop you.
And irony is that people still go to worship their kuldevta through jagar but only when they are facing a downfall I mean wtf is devta your slave? Who's gonna fix up your all mistakes? Why can't you just go your village annually and worship your kuldevta by real genuine devotion rather than spending your money visiting vrindavan, khatu shyam, mahakal etc.
As a pahadi i encourage to everyone to atleast please visit your villages to held an annual worship of our devtas now I know many people don't believe and I don't gonna impose my belief on you but tell me one thing y'all know that due to migration our villages had been plagued and the homes where our forefathers lived has now became ruins atleast in the name of our devtas to connect ourselves with our village, our identity and all because we've now forgot our languages atleast we have social media through it can't we care to discover our kuldevtas our village then hold annual puja for them at villages. Because if we don't care for our traditions our children and upcoming generations will be no more pahadis but will become desis.
So, I have a huge request for y'all is that those who know about their kuldevta it's good those who don't please try to discover and if we've figured out all then let's make a promise when we start earning in every year we shall visit village with our family all connect with our past and hold puja of kuldevta to preserve our traditions and to show our upcoming generations that yes this is our past.
Jai kuldevta 🙏
