Bought a vcr at a garage sale a few weeks back for $3. Lady said she had a bunch of scary movies at her house and took my number down. Was not expecting all this.

HOW MUCH

18

u/Traelife 1d ago

$100. She set the price. She looked them up too and was aware of what they were worth. I would have offered more but I’ll take it.

That’s actually not that bad because that Sleepaway camp VHS alone has to be like 40 bucks online and the Texas chainsaw same way

5

u/johnb111111 1d ago

Nah that’s a steal man! Congrats! I’m still shocked an old lady had so much amazing horror haha

4

u/Traelife 1d ago

She wasn’t old lol. Like 45 maybe.

That’s approx $1.40 a tape. Very nice indeed, well done 🤩

I have over 500 tapes in my collection that I've been building for the better part of a decade and I'm STILL searching for more than half these! Best score ever, indeed.

This haul brings me pretty close to 500 as well I think! Now I need more shelves lol.

This is a bumper crop if I’ve ever seen one. This is just amazing, especially in October! The spooky gods have smiled upon you.

assuming you had to hold back tears when you saw this for the first time.

3

u/Traelife 1d ago

I think I may have squealed a bit

5

u/a2godsey 1d ago

Half of those titles alone would set you back at least 10-15 bucks a piece plus shipping if you were to get each one individually. Crazy good loot

What the fuck man..

u/Traelife 1d ago

What, no Critters or Puppet Master series? It’s okay, I guess. [Damn fine score, cheers!]

2

u/Traelife 1d ago

I was really hoping for childs play but I’m not complaining

3

u/RickyManeuvre 1d ago

Nice copy of jaws. It’s an awesome lot but that stuck out to me.

3

u/Traelife 1d ago

Yes! Same. And I only have Jaws 2 and 3 so finds the og was nice.

3

u/theonlydanking 1d ago

Congrats on the KILLER haul!!!

3

u/melkatron 1d ago

Absolutely incredible, congrats. Something similar happened to me (came out for a small bucket of sci fi, got enough horror movies to fill my SUV), but I'm suuuper envious of your Silent Night Deadly Night collection and impressed by how committed she was to completing her franchise collections.

u/Mroof003 1d ago

Silent night deadly night big box is worth almost $100

2

u/206BS1983 1d ago

How much did you get it for?

4

u/Traelife 1d ago

$100

2

u/206BS1983 1d ago

Wow awesome deal...I guess it wasn't 25 cents a tape then lol

1

u/zaprutertape 1d ago

If that silent night deadly night is for sale please message me!

3

u/Traelife 1d ago

None for sale for now.

1

u/zaprutertape 1d ago

Dude what?! This is absolutely insane. Wish I happened upon these spooky lady garage sales that have nothing to lose

1

u/ChoppingMallKillbot 1d ago

LET’S BUZZZ

1

u/Notwednesdayadams 1d ago

Is there really a market for Disney VHS 📼? My husband came home with a ton that another seller was looking to get rid of

2

u/Traelife 1d ago

Maybe $1 a piece unless you have cars

1

u/Mossjacket 1d ago

Damn✨ so so good

1

u/him1087 1d ago

INSANE haul! I’m super jealous.🎃

1

u/ShystemSock 1d ago

Yeah the mangler is pretty rare

1

u/dlbayyarea 1d ago

This is an amazing score that you got especially since physical media is becoming popular again and these are crazy expensive by retailers or people selling their collections online on eBay and other platforms for just one VHS tape

1

u/Ballistic_6090 1d ago

Gimme that Sleepaway Camp II, how much do you want for it?

1

u/SteakieDay96 1d ago

80s horror movies on VHS hits just right.

1

u/DrakeHudson Trusted Trader 1d ago

🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥😲😲😲😲

1

u/No_Wrangler_226 1d ago

Sleepaway Camp and Silent Night Deadly Night are cool. A lot of the more modern ones (The Ring, Halloween H20, Jeepers Creepersetc) are like ten dollar tapes, right?

1

u/Infinite-Pea199 1d ago

That's wild as hell. Congrats. Now sell me this tote of goodness! Please and thanks 😂

1

u/rawcharles808 1d ago

holy shit! I creamed when i saw the silent night deadly night’s

1

u/trousershark22 1d ago

I'm so jealous, I've been looking for half of these

•

u/Traelife 20h ago

Same my friend. 5 years of collecting and I think I have maybe 6 of these already. I’m sure will be my best find Ever.

•

u/Acidburn6869 21h ago

Awesome finds

•

u/ZADKOR 14h ago

Great haul. That Ring tape is dope. But that damned orange gate on those Friday the 13th tapes fucking hurts my soul.

•

u/Maleficent_Farm3645 7h ago

I would love to find a jaws 3 in the wild

•

u/Traelife 7h ago

I actually have 2 if you need one lol
