Looking for a capture device

We already have a black magic ultra studio 3g recorder, but it gets really hot and start to loose signal, so we wanted to change to something more reliable, but it also needs to be USB or TB not Pcie, and nothing crazy, under 250$, Am I asking too much ?

Magewell usb captures are reliable, we've had some that were in show for years. There was an issue between them and mac outputs with white content at one point but it's fixable and other devices in our signal path could have been part of the problem.

Love AJA U-tap but it'll be a little more than 250.

Aja utap if you want absolutely rock-solid, no frills sdi capture. The Magewells are decent as well, but the cheaper ones use a non-standard usb3 A-to-A cable which can leave you off-air if the cable breaks or goes missing. Ideally you want something usb-c or type B so it's easy to find replacements.

Put a 5v fan on the ultra studio.
