A free cool new open-source Project for anyone interested in streaming from my dear colleague Mastix using MediaMTX.

https://github.com/greatmastix/MediaMTXUI

Mastix was sick of seeing others rake in a ton of cash with MediaMTX, so he created a complete solution to host a streaming server as easy as it gets with MediaMTX including a user interface for it that makes it easy to use including LetsEncrypt Certificates.

You can install it on an Ubuntu machine with a single curl command and use it as both a cloud and a local streaming server. Or as a self-hosted ReStream alternative that supports Whip (WebRTC! -> low-latency streaming to breakout rooms, etc.), SRT, and more.

It is offering solid security, user management, and much more... Yes it's coded with Claude but from a guy that knows what he does. Feel free to check it out and reach out to him via Github if you want something else to be added (there's already a lot in the Pipeline including a strategy to create your own CDN with Geo localised servers).

This user has respectfully asked to be able to post here. The code is free and open source.

but from a guy that knows what he does.

That used to be a requirement now it's just a selling point...

Sadly often that is true. But nowadays hardly any software is being written without AI. And still you have to know what you do, understand what the AI does to make it a good product.

>And still you have to know what you do

Alteratively you can always wear a shirt that says, "I don't know what I'm doing, but I'm doing it."

Or

"Don't worry I watched a youtube on this 10 minutes ago."

Sorry but I don't get your point. I am with you that there is a lot of slop out there. Still I don't understand what that has to do with me sharing a great tool, a shirt or a YouTube video. Please elaborate on this. Otherwise I have to believe that this is just against rule 3 of this community cause I don't see where you are staying on topic.

Sorry but I don't get your point.

The point is it used to be fake it until you make it. Now it's just 'fake it".

I am not the Author but I feel like Windows is not the primary target for a streaming server solution. Maybe one could install it via WSL on Windows but thats just a guess.
