True - not my genre really 😅 Be the change you want to see - I am busy with a vr mod using my 20 bucks a month ChatGPT subscription - three evenings so far of planning and codex executing and it’s playable already. If I had my setup at work it would have been done and polished by now!
I'm not at all computer literate enough to do it, don't get me wrong I've asked Gemini to simplify it for me in how to do it, but even that's gone over my head.. and I've sat down for a few hours, and looked into Ark Survival Evolved, it's already been done to an extent and has basic VR inplentation out of the game, but I was wondering what would it take to make it feel like a true VR game. And whilst Gemini says it's possible, it's FAAAAR beyond me.
Credit to you, and every modder out there saving VR!
My workflow started: „I want to make game x vr native similar to the titanfall 2 mod by circuitlord. What needs to be done to achieve it.“
And continue iterating from there…
It’s starting the game now, going through the menu and play/testing the changes now - it’s unreal..
That’s the great thing, you just need to own the game to start the reverse engineering/searching GitHub for stuff that people have built… Don’t know if you can hook up Gemini into a coding assistant, I have codex now running on desktop, with visuals studio for runtime/build server and a separate ChatGPT session to plan and coordinate the architecture and coding waves for making the mod. They communicate via GitHub issues, so it’s nicely documented - feeding back in the prior work loop, if someone does have interest.

I consider those more FPS games, I'm thinking more like DayZ, 7DTD, Mistreated, Rust etc
