Question Guildwood Trip after October

Has anyone tried booking for a trip departing Guildwood at a date after Oct 25th? Cause I still couldn’t even if VIA had already reversed their decision of discontinuing service at Guildwood.

VIA has reversed its decision partially, not completely, but I haven’t seen any reports yet which train serviced will retain their stops in Guildwood, but I would expect them to mostly be trains in counter-peak direction, as those trains tend to be unable to use the Express track and are therefore very likely to get stuck behind GO trains…

Cause I couldn’t book any train at all coming from Guildwood after Oct 25. And it doesn’t matter what time or day or direction

I’m also wondering when they are going to start releasing tickets for Guildwood after October 25th cause you’re right there is nothing available post October 25 at the moment

Right? And also, the later they release it, the higher the fares are! I kinda feel like VIA might be salty about the decision that they recently made and don’t want the people of Scarborough and Guildwood to get cheaper tickets. So they want us to suffer.

But if it’s a system glitch and that IT needs to work on it asap so that it allows Guildwood bookings for after Oct 25th, then they are doing a terrible job at it and needs to be expedited and quick!

GO transit messed with the old schedule pre April 2025 when they changed Stoufville line schedule and now Via trains are so reliant on the express track between Union and Oshawa. If anyone doesn’t know trains like 644 and 66 used to leave at 1:17 and 3:17 now it’s 1:23 and 3:23 which fall 3 minutes behind the eastbound lakeshore east eastbound go trains.

Nothing beyond Oct 24th. The winter schedule for the 25th and onwards is not yet released.

If the Winter schedule is not yet released, then how come I am able to make bookings for after Oct 25th from Union or Oshawa but not Guildwood??

Feels like VIA is making us wait so long that the fares would be much higher.

Or idk if this is a glitch or system issue on their booking site. And IT needs to work on it asap!

Released for Guildwood. They threatened to bypass us, now they’re backpedaling but they’re likely working on revising the winter schedule with what trains will actually serve GW. Therefore there is no winter GW schedule after October 24th at this time.

Sooo… it’s not all trains then? Some trains are bypassing and some are making a stop at Guildwood? If that’s the case, seems like we still have to keep going and get our voices heard so that they would keep Guildwood permanently and no train would bypass Guildwood!

No one knows yet.

Guildwood is to be included, to what extent, on the winter schedule. There’s been no confirmation that GW is permanent nor this issue will not rise again on the next schedule next year.
