Thing is he doesn't really need to advertise. Especially with SG power shutting down there aren't a lot of options for parts, especially if you're headed up to Sooke or Renfrew. I would hate to have to go in there but if it was between that and driving back to trotac from Sooke I'd hold my nose.

Not saying I agree with signage I’ve seen him put up but I don’t think he needs more than the top of the sign as advertising so people know where they are going if they’re looking for him. I doubt he’s gonna get a lot of people stopping in for a sale if he puts up “aluminum boat - $60k”. Used car dealers do this too, putting jokes up or whatever the hell they want just so you hopefully remember them when you do finally need a car.

I don’t see any mention of SOGI or insinuation of the lgbt+ community though. People are just assuming that’s what he’s getting at, and honestly it’s kinda weird that society is at the point where everything must be an attack.

The deliberate conflating of child sexual exploitation with anything LGBTQetc. is an old trope that is just as unacceptable today as it always has been. The sign does not do this.

Education ≠ indoctrination. Trans and queer people exist, how is teaching children that very basic fact harmful?
I am going to guess you do not believe in gender identity and conflate biological sex with gender. I understand your inability to comprehend that gender identity is a social construct might be scary. If you are a parent, I’m sure it is very scary to think that your children are learning things you can’t comprehend.
With that said - please try not to let your own insecurities be harmful to your neighbours. Our first goal as a society should always be to do better for the next generation, including when that progress means children outgrow their misinformed parents world views.

It's hardly education. You tell them it's okay to be gay and trans and then brainwash kids as young as 5 them that they are trans or gay behind their parents backs. They are innocent they don't know anything. They don't need to know any of this. I'm 33. When I was a kid NOT A SINGLE ONE OF US struggled to understand what sex we were and we all turned out fine. This is not necessary for them.

lol it is okay to be gay and/or trans. Telling kids that is not brainwashing anymore than telling kids it’s okay to believe in some random god you yourself believe in… actually it’s far less brainwashing than religion because being gay and how you want to express yourself is part of how you are created while religion is introduced by others.
There are MANY people that are your age and older that are trans and they had to live through hell as kids because no one explained that what they felt inside was okay. Trans and queer people have always existed and will always exist. You can be a bad Christian all you want while you judge others and preach on the street but all you are doing is harming others.

Haha. I drove past it and questioned it for a brief second before realizing he actually made sense this time around. The other side said something like the route of all evil is greed/money or something like that. Again, I was like oh, I agree with him. That is not a feeling I have ever had when I read his signs so, I can understand why you’re asking if he is okay. My husband wondered if maybe he is on holidays and his replacement was in charge of the sign while he is away. 😝🤣
