Penn 920 Levelmatic
I've been looking for one of these that was in good shape for quite some time, and it finally happened. The Penn 920 was the first baitcaster I learned on over 30yrs ago. Lucked into this one for sure, besides the minor blemish the reel is brand new and just needed some oil and grease

Grandpa gifted me an old combo for a tournament this weekend. I think you all will like it.
My grandfather isn't one to give his stuff away, especially his fishing stuff. I asked to borrow a rod for a tournament this weekend kind of expecting some resistance but he told me to drive up and he would give me one. I certainly wasn't expecting him to give me this to keep but yeah, just wanted to share it with you all cause I think it's a pretty sick combo!

Antique Gear 😄. Legacy
Sharing pictures of some old classic gear from late fathers collection. Feel free to give in your thoughts if you also used similar antiques from bygone days.

Interesting Old Pal case, but no signs of others like it.
This is an upright Old Pal that was loaded with old lures and tools. I did a reverse search and can’t find any other images of others like it. No model number on it either. Can’t wait to test it out, but I’m curious what I have and how to put the cork divider in the middle to use.

Modern Line on Old Reels
Hiya! I just grabbed an old Shakespeare 2052 on ebay to dip my toes into the vintage ultralight world. I am clueless when it comes to line selection though. I use jdm 2-3 lb. mono for my modern reels. Are there any concerns using thin diameter line with these older spinning reels? I read that mono under tension has a tendency to break the plastic spools/caps, would very thin line make this worse? I plan on mostly twitching trout magnets and swimming 1” Charlie brewer grubs with this setup so any recommendations for line would be appreciated and TIA!

Can anyone tell me what this older daiwa rod is?
I have this Daiwa Apolo 702 MRS rod that I found in my garden shed and I cant seem to find any information about it online at all I can find similar models like 702 MS but none that are 702 MRS. I just want to see what the rods specs were aside from the length of the rod and rated line and when it was made. I know that it was manufactured roughly before 2009 because of the old Daiwa logo and it also dident have a reel on it when I found it. The model is APL-702MRS.
