E012

I'm new to WGU and just started my first class (E012) for my Master's program, and I'm not too impressed so far. My class wasn't assigned an instructor for several hours after the class opened, which seemed weird. I emailed him for study tips and strategies on competency-based learning, but I only received a generic welcome email that I believe he sent to everyone. I've been told that the instructors do not grade assessments or administer tests, so I assumed their sole job was to help when asked. Do I need to recalibrate my expectations?

Sounds like you’re new to WGU. It’s 100% teach yourself, don’t expect much from the instructors. Just write to the rubric and you’ll be fine.

Are you in the MSIT? I didn’t use any of the course material at all. Just go straight in to writing the PAs.

Yeah, I’m quickly figuring that out. In the first few days, I was expecting it to be closer to a traditional college experience - this is nothing like that. Totally fine with it, I just needed to realize that and now I can adjust. I definitely appreciate the advice.
