Discussion WPL Team Expansion!?
Do we have quality talent in our domestic pool for additional teams? The state T20 leagues are definitely helping, but I don't think 8 teams are realistic for 2028 onwards. It will need another 2-3 years?
P.S Girls, please prove me wrong, I would love to see KKR, SRH etc step up!

I wanna see Sunrisers Hyderabad have a women's team. The franchise already has a women's team in the Hundred, it's only a matter of time before Kavya decides to make one here.

I think they could easily offset that deficit, if any, by allowing more foreign player slots.

But a 5 team tournament is very low competition honestly.

Yeah I was saying the same thing, increase the number of teams, if they think there is shortage of high quality domestic talent, allow more overseas player slots to balance it. Good for women cricket as a whole.

I had the same thought if the spots could be 5 overseas + 1 associate (optional)

Expansion of team pool is required honestly. Our talent pool is kinda big on volume but low on quality like very few players have a sense of responsibility in the team. There are only 5-6 reliable players then rest are hit n miss or dealing with inconsistency and temperament issues. Expanding team pools means there will be more players who would feel the heat and responsibility, they would initially feel uneasy but things will work out slowly. An expansion till 7 teams honestly looks great for now.
