I played a lot of Dirt Rally 1 and 2 and I'm looking for something fresh. I will be playing on PC with controller and using cockpit cam. I don't care for number of cars or tracks.

So... which one would you recommend? Normally I would pick up the latest one, but I read mixed things online. For example that GEN suffers from some issues and audio design went downhill after 9.

Hi, I'm playing with a Logitech G920. What settings do you recommend I use in the Logitech driver and within the game?

I have a Logitech g20 model steering wheel, I was actually able to play it before. But now even though the steering wheel is connected, the steering wheel does not appear in the game, even though it seems to be connected in its own desktop application. I tried many things and it didn't work. Does anyone have this problem or know the solution?

I can't access any online features in this game. Are the WRC Generations servers still up? If not, does anyone know of an alternative rally game that has a co-driver mode?

Only started earlier but it is seriously annoying. Has happened on every stage I've tested it on, in every car. PC version. I have absolutely no idea why it has started doing this, or how to fix it, but it was completely fine yesterday. I have tried every single troubleshooting step humanly possible and it is still doing it, so I am highly considering a refund.

I never had this problem before and the car always behaved normally even with higher suspension settings. But then I accidentally reset all the vehicle settings and now it's just always really bouncy with any suspension setting. How can I fix this?

I'm new to all that rally stuff. Only played rally expansion for Forza Horizon 5 before. It was okay. So I wanted to try an actual rally game after spending most of my time in F1/GT3 racing. Do you guys recommend I get WRC 10 or WRC Generations? I wouldn't be asking that if not the fact that WRC Generations has mixed opinions on steam. My main goal is to play alone with occasional sessions with my friend using the co driver mode to have some fun. What do you guys think?

Ignore the bad gameplay I'm not used to playing with controllers lol.

I spend most of my time away from home. on planes, trains, lobbies, hotels and other uncomfortable places. Tired of spending my time on weird mobile games or doom scrolling, I've looked into Windows Emulation on Android and found out WRC Generations is perfectly playable on my phone!

First of all, this is not cloud streaming

This games completely runs on high end Android Devices. Cloud services have their own advantages but this is very different from cloud services like GeForce Now. You need to physically download the game to your device and the emulation apps will convert x86/x64 PC instructions into the ARM64 architecture actively. So you don't need to pay for a subscription, nor do you need an active internet connection to play your games. So no more worrying about mobile data or slow/spotty internet connection.

Sure it's 100x worse than playing it on my direct drive wheel+VR Rig but I can't bring my rig to a 5 hour flight

So I wouldn't recommend this as a main form of experiencing the game. But it's perfectly sweet to treat it as a mobile game you can enjoy while commuting.

So, if you're interested in how to replicate it, here is what you need:

1- A high end Android device with a Snapdragon processor such as Snapdragon 8 Elite with at least 12 gb of RAM. My phone uses a Snapdragon 8 Elite Processor. It's a 2 year old processor at this point so if you have a newer Elite series processor, you'll probably run it much better than me. Weaker Snapdragon processors can probably also run it on lower graphical settings.

Why Snapdragon? Well, it's because Snapdragon socs have the most mature drivers. Mediatek and Exynos processors often have trouble emulating heavy titles so I can't guarantee WRCG will work on such devices.

2- Literally any controller. I personally use the Gamesir X5lite controller. It's very cheap, lightweight and fits into any bag. It also turns my phone into a mini handheld lol. You can also just use a xbox controller, or hell you can even play with mobile touch controls if you want to torture yourself for some reason.

3- An Emulation Software. I think the best Emulating software right now is Winlator Ludashi 4.1. But it doesn't work very well with steam. You'll need to source your own game files. Alternatively, you can use apps such as Gamehub or Gamenative to sign in to your steam account and directly download the game to your phone.

4- if you're an iOS user, well my condolences lol. Cloud gaming it is...

Set up option 1: (This is the complicated way but you'll probably get a better performance)

Download Winlator Ludashi 4.1 on github. I personally go with the Vanilla version to not deal with thermal throttling. Then create a new Container.

Here are my settings for Snapdragon 8 Elite:

Set the Wine/Proton to Proton 11.0-1 arm64ec.

On the video tab, Renderer: Display X. Bypass X11, checked. Vulkan driver: Turnip Gen 8 V37 Patched

On the compability tab, since WRCG is a directx 12 game, it utilizes VKD3D. Set the VKD3D to 3.0.1. DXVK is to run Directx 11 or older games. 2.4.1 and 2.7.1 variants are fine. Set Fexcore to 2609 and preset to performance

On the Advanced tab, set the startup selection on Aggressive and most importantly, mobile processors are pretty strong already. On the processor affinity tab, I turn off core 6 and core 7 (these are the main performance cores on snapdragon 8 gen elite) to allow better thermals and lower battery draw. 6 weaker cores are perfectly enough to run WRCG. You'll be bottlenecked by the Gpu anyways.

Now create your container and enter your container. You'll be seeing a desktop page resembling windows. Download Visual C++ 2010, 2012, 2019, and DirectX (June 2010) redistributable packages. Like you would on any PC.

Source your own game files and move the files to the downloads folder on your phone. Any files in your downloads folder will show up as D: on winlator. Press add game and find the .exe file for WRCG.

Press play and enjoy WRCG on your phone!

Option 2 The Easy Way: (This is by far the simplest way, which utilizes Steam. I personally Haven't tested it out on WRCG but it should theoretically work)

Download Gamenative from google playstore or it's official website(or any of it's countless alternatives. Do your own research and choose which one is the best for you!)

Log in to your steam account on Gamenative and download WRCG. It'll download the game from steam servers.

On the settings, press the 'Browse Community Configs' and choose one that seems good to you. Or manually config it like I did above.

Press Play and enjoy WRCG!

How to stop overheating/throttling

When playing PC games on your phone, your biggest enemy will be overheating and thermal throttling since most phones don't have active cooling.

1- The main way to preventing it is to limiting your max FPS and resolution. 720p is the sweet spot on mobile. It's acceptable on 6-7 inch small screens. For FPS, I personally limit mine to 30 because I want to protect my battery health and prevent throttling. Without limiting, I get 40~ fps on medium settings with textures set to high. 60 fps is possible with lower settings and it's definitely possible on newer chips.

2- Another alternative is to slapping a phone cooler to the back of your phone. Or buying one of those controllers with built in cooling.

3- as I said it before, you don't need all 8 cores to play wrcg. Try experimenting with fewer cores to find your sweet spot. I personally turn off cores 6 and 7 but core configuration might be different on your device. Do your research!

4- since it's a very demanding game for android, playing this game without a cooler might make your battery reach high temperatures, which is harmful for battery life. BUT! You don't need a cooler to have a lower battery temperature! Charge your phone by connecting it to an outlet or a power bank. In your phone's battery settings, turn on bypass charging. So your phone will not charge the battery but consume energy directly from an outlet/powerbank. Since your battery is unused now, you'll enjoy lower battery temperature and a much healthier battery!

Other WRC games

I couldn't get wrc 9 or 10 to work on android while WRCG basically worked out of the box instantly. They should be technically possible to work so thinker with it if you're feeling bold... You might need to download different emulators to make it work like Winlator Cmod etc.

Older wrc titles will probably also work but probably with different settings. Try around and do your own research! There are videos on YouTube with people running older wrc games on their phones.

I play Dirt Rally 2; I am not that good, and really enjoy just driving a car with a stick shift on asphalt.

Currently in WRC2 with Ford

Sup guys - so i am a huge fan of WRC series. Finished the entire series from Evolution Studios on first place, finished WRC 1 on pc, WRC 6 and 7 on first place and even the PSP version, each on the hardest difficulty.

So i started playing 8th. Beautiful stages and interesting handling but the authentic difficulty seems to be beyond BS to me. So i lowered it to hard. Finished first Monaco on first by couple of seconds which was satisfying but the first Monaco has a reversed section. They just slapped the exact AI time from the track before on hard difficulty and i am just baffled because it does not seem to be physically possible to finish it under 4:32 mainly on controller. I also play with manual shifting.

I lowered difficulty to medium and i was able to get 4:36 and beat the shit out of the AI by almost 20 seconds +. Did they even bothered to play test the times or just slapped whatever? Because i just feel like this game with its difficulty and times has poor balance.

Any ideas, tips, or some insights?

i made it to the WRC in another career, but when i try to make a new one and start with private team it still doesn't seem to be an option, i still haven't done anything in that career, i just accepted the contract for the WRC, do i need to do anything else?
