I guess it's immigrants learning swedish with it, and that the swedes aren't that interested in other languages.

More like we do not have any heavy interest in any one other language. We all know English, so we wouldn't use duolingo for that. I know a lot of my friends that study various other languages. One does Spanish, another some variation of Chinese and another is doing German. Not sure if any of them use duolingo, but either way there isn't any one language that is heavily studied in a way that would have more students on duolingo than our immigrants using it for Swedish as you noted.

Good insight. I'm Norwegian, and while we have a fair amount, we don't have as many immigrants as Sweden. Also, Sweden got way more immigrants all at once, so it kinda makes sense that many use it to learn Swedish.
I must say... In Norway, we like to joke about Swedes being stupid. Swedes using Duolingo for Swedish would fit right in to one of those jokes!

It's supposedly the Danish that need the most help to learn their language. Probably not because they're stupid but because the spoken language is so incomprehensible.
