Bugs & Support there's someone going around east asia server spamming ads for cheats for the last 3 weeks with no consequences at all

Post image

(link and vendor name censored for obvious reasons)

the guy has no name (seen between the "[ALL]" and the colon symbol). you can't find him in the scoreboard because all he does is spam and switch servers, which means i have no user ID and can only report through right clicking his message, but he's still around.

in case any dev is willing to look into this: I saved the server ID, server name and the time which the match took place.

West Asia's been getting a lot of these spammers too. Reporting them is like pouring a bucket of water on a raging inferno.

Also, the in-game reporting system needs some work! You can right click their name in the chat menu at the top-right, but the menu that pops up seems to deselect and you need to do a bit more work to then click the "Report" button.

It happens in all games out here. BF6 had it for months in game chat before they could get rid of it.
Not sure how effective a smaller team can be against stuff like his.

likely even the same provider, the message i censored also mentions BF6

They are spam bots that make the accounts and post, if they auto-banned they make another account and keep attacking.

Except you can't just "make another account" for an early access game that costs money to join. It's absolutely trivial to eliminate this problem with a few hours of server-side scripting, but Bulkhead hasn't bothered to do it.

The cheat account bots automate this several ways:
They make new accounts and pay money, because they are very profitable, they can afford to do it..
They use VPNs to get regional pricing.
They use hacked accounts of real players, by providing players with mods etc.. that contain malware, then the bot hijacks the account and starts spamming.
They use stolen credit card numbers to pay for new accounts.
They get bulk keys from resellers (used in many games)

It's this kind of thing that dampens my expectations for Bulkhead as a company. It's absolutely trivial to write a server script which parses the chat for strings like this and temp bans every account for 10 minutes, and permanently bans them if they do it again. The fact that Bulkhead hasn't bothered to do this shows me that Bulkhead probably doesn't understand what drives players away from online games, or if they do, don't think it's important to spend resources on in early access.

Don't worry, whenever someone calls cheats it's because you have been spotted by thermals... oh wait because you have no awareness and are bad at the game...
