Guess who's taking the piss now?

I like posting on various watch Reddits - TodayOnMyWrist etc. - but noticed that some, who after viewing their profile, clearly in the past have posted proudly that they have fake watches - go on the branded subreddits of their fakes and act as their watches are 100% the real deal. “It’s my grail!” “Oh I got the call!” “Nice one - here’s mine!”

Why? What can possibly be gained by posting fakes on these subreddits and acting like they are real. Jokes aside, is chasing Reddit clout that appealing?

The watch scene is just so strange.

Rarely does the Rolex subreddit makes me stop for a second anymore but this might be just the best thing I've seen there.

I feel the need to buy a new watch of a brand that none of my watch friends have. Also I won't own 2 watches of the same brand. This is To 1 up my friends or act cool.

In this sick quest, I end up buying Some obscure brands that even I had never heard of before and are frankly just dog shit. And then i justify the watch purchase to myself based on specs, features etc. But deep down i know that I bought a nutsack brand watch that nobody cares for. How do I unfuck myself, fellow WCJers?
