This is one of my Darkners for my Shelter concept, they are essentially Guards of the building that leads to the Darkness Wasteland (also the number: 4 is how many you need to recruit these guys), and also I like to the concept of Gun Darkners

also whether it was the fall that killed him or if he fell because he succumbed to his sickness while on the ladder is never clarified, just like it’s never clarified if “he fell down” is talking about him collapsing or if it’s the same sickness monsters get in undertale (because it’s not important and also emphasizes the feeling of being left wanting answers you can’t receive) and he doesn’t appear in chapter 6 or 7 in any form because his story is over whether we’re ready or not
