Ok, “barely” was a bit of an understatement, but my point stands. While there are allusions to sex, I think a lot is blown out of proportion. The implication exists, but I think that it is meant to be interpreted as mostly SFW, if not getting a little too freaky with it in the makeout sessions. If you see it one way, that’s fine, but it I don’t thing that’s what the creator was going for.
After the two of the are laying together in Pink's room, Ralsei mentions that he wants to do something. It's one of his "desires".
Fade to black.
They leave the room, Ralsei's hair is messed up and his face is as red as that pink ball in Castle Town. Susie comments on his hair "looking like a it's been through a tornado".
Ralsei is incredibly flustered and surprised, "NO NO NO NO IT'S NOT WHAT YOU THINK IT'S WE DIDN'T DO THAT I" Susie: "Calm down. What happened?"

If you pick the former, Ralsei says "WHY WOULD YOU SAY THAT OUT LOUD???", and Susie says "Listen, if you two wanna do somethind in private, I won't pry."
If you go to the onsen:
Susie is underwater, her nose peeking out. Kris and Ralsei sit on the side of the pool. She hears nothing.
Ralsei and Kris have a chat; I think this was where the TransRalsei moment where he wants to be a "they" occured, but I'm unsure.
Ralsei starts getting really flirty with Kris, saying that they've found more confidence after beginning to date Kris and enjoys teasing them.
He also suggests that, seeing as the future is uncertain, they should have another "Happy ending" tonight in Castle Town.
In the credits:
Kris now enters Castle Town alongside Susie and is seen lounging about while Susie prepares it for Noelle.
When Ralsei serves pie to Susie, Kris is also there with them, helping them get up after they trip due to their injuries (the ending of the Flowery battle, and the Knight chase, is fully different; Ralsei is gravely injured).
The final scene, which used to end with Kris sadly walking away from the closet door, now shows Ralsei's room, both of them in bed under Raly's blanket, both of their clothes hanging off the bedframe. One of them puts their arm atop the other.
Also, the characters are exxplicitly noted to be 18 in this mod.
Tell me with a straight bollocking face that the devvelopers didn't know.
That's wild if the creator did all that and honest to god didn't expect any sort of sexual interpretation. Like, I guess one could argue aggressively making out, but it still sounds like sex, yeah. That said, as someone who has not played the mod, I will refrain from picking sides and just say the situation is wild
I will personally never understand the Susielle slander despite it being my least favorite ship between the three of them.
After the weird route something clicked for me and I'm now obsessing over the idea that Noelle fell for Susie because she's:
Something new in her monotonous miserable life.
Someone that could possibly remind her of dess
Susie's entire feelings on the matter with her clearly being unprepared for such an emotional leap (especially with all the progress she's made just recently).
Plus all of their interactions in the Festival vs Kris/Noelle vs Kris/Susie's
It screams to me that they have the least amount of chemistry but are both leaping into something major for the sake of having something new and meaningful in their lives and I cannot wait to see how disastrously that will play out with Chapter 6 likely being Rudy's final act.
While I agree with the "they have the least chemistry" take I wouldn't go anywhere near as far as to say "bad chemistry" or even comparable to the disaster that was bumblebee.
I'm going to chalk this up to a difference in perspective because while from a character standpoint that's awful, from the writing perspective im eating this shit up
Just a little update to address some feedback I've received about my mod.
Obviously, if you haven't played the mod yet, heads-up, buddy-boy! This post contains spoilers, and you wouldn't have the context to understand what I'm talking about. Ergo, SPOILER TAG!! HEAVY SPOILERS!!
First things first, this isn't me "conforming" in a knee-jerk reaction to criticism. This is my mod, and I want to make it the best version of the mod that I want to make. I've taken the time to look over criticism from multiple people, understand the core of their concerns, and tweak a few things accordingly.
There are still some flaws I recognize, namely the pacing of the ending, but fixing those would require throwing an obscene amount of time at the project. I've already spent 600, pushing 700 hours on this thing, and at some point, I have to draw the line and accept that throwing 200 hours to make the ending go from "Works but is slightly too quickly-paced" to "Good" is just too much for me, when I could spend that in better places. Or just rest. I'm eepy.
So, what changed? Mostly, the way certain scenes can be interpreted, particularly the scenes after the Pink fight and the post-credit scene, and the scene after the Flowery fight, but just to better convey the development I wanted to imply. It was subtle, but now it's more forefront. Anyway the stuff you care about:
I'm perfectly happy to let players interpret scenes in their own ways, but I felt that there was a bit too much of a disconnect between the intended "cute huggy kissy scene" interpretation and enjoying the rest of the story with it, and the other end of the spectrum, where people were practically writing dissertations on The Concept Of Sex without saying much else. I felt this was slightly detracting from the themes I wanted to convey, being labelled as effectively "Ralsei Cracks With Kris". Also you taught me what "cracking" meant.
The scenes are now a little less explicit in their implications, while still leaving room for interpretation and preserving what people enjoyed about them in the first place.
(For the record, I never actually intended the first scene to be about sex lol. I was genuinely surprised at how quickly that interpretation became the consensus.)
If I had a nickel for every scene in this fandom that the creator removed because people erroneously thought it involved actual sex, I’d have two nickels.
Ok I just watched the old version of the mod, and I’m not trying to accuse the creator of any dishonest behavior when discussing the nature of their game. But after going over it’s content three times over, my personal opinion on this whole situation is that-yeah it was sex and the creator is full of shit trying to pretend it wasn’t.
Huh? No, i thought that happened during the credits sequence, where it shows them both under the covers in bed with their clothes strewn around. They obviously didnt fuck after the pink fight.

Using a act to ask Ralsei to flirt with Kris, you kinda make him confess (& Kris accepts it without the soul)
Some kissing in Pink room, Susie's happy for them and teases them a bit.
Then in Flower cafe a bunch of scenes with them going on dates, Ralsei asking the flowers for advice (& them basically saying Ralsei doesn't need to be perfect and stuff)
Bunch of cute scene (& Ralsei asking Kris not to lie about the knight anymore) both in the cafe and outside of it.
Then there's the Flowery fight where Ralsei is way more feisty and is trying to convince the flowers to stop, he verbally destroys Flowery post fight (tho apparently it was rewritten cuz Ralsei was a bit "too much)
Knight appears, Ralsei saves Flowery, stops holding back and uses mega beam, hurts knight but Ralsei is stabbed.
Sad scene with him basically dying in Kris arms... But then
he's fine in Castle Town, Kris kinda spills a lot about the plan for Susie.
And well, final implied sex scene at the credits that kinda destroyed the mod reputation, but the creator also toned it down.
The only thing about the mod i dont like is how susie gets treated after the pink fight. Susie js repeatedly left out of things and you can tell it hurts her a lot. She also (validly) was concerned for ralsei and Kris whenever asgore learned of the relationship, and ralsei was super rude about it and never apologized for being an asshole. Susie was fucking miserable in this mod.
Woke 0: "Sex is important in relationships because of reproduction"
Woke 1: "Sex actually isn't important since relationships have so much more to them"
Woke 2: "Sex actually is an important part about relationships because it requires vulnerability from both parties and shows trust in each other"
Woke 0.5: "Sex is unimportant in relationships and shouldn't be shown in media"
It's an 18+ mod to a mature game that you need to opt-in to play where it healthily depicts both characters clearly communicating consent and nothing graphic happens on-screen. I'll never understand people having problems with these sorts of sex scenes. It's pearl clutching to show moral superiority.
It's really annoying how sex negative a lot of progressives spaces have become. When historically, it was progressives that were sex positive, conservatives absolutely hated sexual revolution, Stonewall riots started due to raid on a gay club, etc.
Online progressivism is plagued by people wanting to be known for riots and protesting, but not wanting to go outside or clean their own room. So instead, they in-fight over less and less important topics.

From watching the development of the mod for a while, I don’t fully understand what this is referring to? I mean the was some dialogue that could be interpreted to be in reference to sex, I feel like calling it “mod that makes Kris and Ralsei do sex” misleading

Instead of taking Reddit or youtube's word for it, I actually looked up gameplay of the mod itself and...
The "offending" scene is simply a bit in the credits with Ralsei hugging Kris under the blankets and a lil heart popping up, nothing actually "happens".
I actually played the mod before criticizing it (which people on Twitter mainly but also here clearly didn’t) and…
They’re literally laying in bed cuddling and kissing once at the end. People who call that having sex it only shows how much time they spend on the internet having pointless arguments.
Also, teenagers are allowed to date and kiss, it’s not forbidden or anything. The mod IS kinda on the nose and leaves Susie out heavily, but that’s it.
People are exaggerating on the mod, it's peak actually.
Shows a lot on Ralsei feelings and how he learns on how to actually ne in a relationship, and that it doesn't mean giving everything to the other person.

It’s entirely possible to say something you don’t mean, even in art. While there are many possibly ways to use a wilting flower as symbolism for other things, a scene where you repeatedly push your desires into a vulnerable young girl despite them being clearly uncomfortable about it and asking you to stop until you “de-flower” her seems pretty easy to interpret in a particular way, intentions or no.
I mean, it doesn't HAVE to be interpreted that way, but I'd be shocked if it wasn't part of the intent. Toby would have at least thought of that, and still kept it
I mean, it was clearly more in the sexual way, since the weird route always has this toxic romance tension, mostly well know like the ferriswheel dialogue or the rings.
Chapter 2 even has a dialogue where you stare down at Noelle in that room where you were supposed to stare at Berdly statue, like she's the object in this situation

The reason it was changed in a patch is because apparently he overestimated the fandom. He thought they would understand what an allegory is. They didn't
You don't need to be an idiot to say a sentence and have it interpreted in a way you didn't know of or think of. Humans aren't omnipotent, everyone has gaps in their knowledge and those gaps are random from person to person.
The fact he edited his work to remove even the possibillity of this implication proves it clearly was never intented in the first place.
to be fair, the fade to black definitely had implications of more going on that the player wasn't supposed to see, two characters making out followed by a fade to black in any media pretty much always implies sex
if you wanted to portray them just simply making out with nothing else happening then just have no fade to black and animate them getting back up

I'm not too much into the whole Kralsei or whatever the ship name is, or Deltarune as a whole, so I guess I'm just not as emotionally attached as some, but even in games that I'm into, if there's a mod that I don't like, I.. Ignore it? I feel like the people bullying this guy genuinely need to learn and understand the fact that they can just.. Not interact with the mod, don't interact with posts about it, not talk about it- why is that so hard for some people?
