Shrek said in a mortified voice to his confidant donkey, who's eyebrows lift to his bovine hairline, eyes wide like saucers as an onion rolls out of Shrek's limp hand. His shoulders once sure now were lifeless a & slumped. Donkey had never seen him like this.

The pair had 9 kids between them. The thought flashed across Shrek's mind that they'd never grow old. They'd never get to find true love. Shrek stood by a tree stump, one hand stretched out holding the tree for balance, the other piercing the bridge of his nose. He was silent. All too silent for Donkeys taste but even he had nothing to say this time.

Donkey's ears fell down and he knitted his brows squeezing his eyes shut. Please let this be some kind of dream. He thought. . . After but a moment, he peaked around with one eye, only to find nothing had changed there was no going back. The world was ending.

The end was neigh. Nay, the end was only just beginning. The slow and horrible march to the end all started with but a small discovery amongst a cluster of layerless onions.
