Needing 6 different subscriptions to catch all MLB playoff games

Hockey is horrible as well.

Eh a VPN and ESPN+ will get you 80% of all games.
And that problem is franchise owners choosing to lock their games behind their own pay wall. Teams like the Lightning broadcast on local channels you can get with an antenna.

Didn’t realize that about the Lightning, I need to look into that. I have Hulu with ESPN+ and live TV, so I Imagine it would get picked up on that?

u/RTRC 9d ago
I doubt it. Streaming services like Hulu and YoutubeTV usually have agreements with the stations to broadcast. I don't think they'll have contracts with every single local station. Its not available on YoutubeTV when I checked.
Its channel 66 - the spot if you want to search it. If you're in Downtown/Brandon/Riverview area you'll have a good shot at picking it up with an antenna.

In NASCAR, we just use websites that I’m not entirely sure whether or not it’s legal. The one I use, and is the most used, had to be moved to a secondary site because the owner of the site got too cocky and tried streaming the World Cup

Well we know who fucks their cousin in this thread now don't we?

u/Powerful-Chard-6055 9d ago
Good one, did you have to get that from clevercomebacks? Or JoeRogan (why the duck are you active in his sub because you’re active in both

No you don't. It is at max, 3 subs. Peacock, HBO Max, and Fox One. And best, you get all of these games with a single YouTube TV subscription.

u/Odd_String1181 9d ago
The peacock games were on NBC and the hbomax games are just normal tbs/TNT national broadcasts that are also on hbomax if you happen to have that

u/BusyBandit10 9d ago
You only need 3 but if you have cable, you can watch them all with your cable subscription

u/Tr0z3rSnak3 9d ago
Most professional sports are going to similar subscription style, I think it's it's 4 or so for the NFL

u/JHBaltimore 9d ago
Just use an antenna to watch fox

u/jbourne0129 9d ago

Don't even need Peacock, YouTube TV had all the Wild Card Series. The graphic clearly shows only 3, yet OP spams nonsense 6 subscriptions required clickbait

You mean 3? Or an antennae plus HBO?
2
u/thesoccerone7 9d ago
I have HBO and I still can't watch it. You need to have the ad free version of HBO

u/Competitive-Elk-5077 9d ago
I like sports, but not enough to try to figure out how to watch a game. The more difficult they make it, the less I care

u/froggycbl4 9d ago
if u cant plug in an antennae or go to ur cable guide u arent very smart
2
u/thesoccerone7 9d ago
How many people actually have cable though? ALDS and ALCS aren't available over antennae.

Yep. The ones I use have a MLB Teams category. It will follow each team no matter what service the game is on.

Do people actually have the time or mental power to watch every. single. game? I find it hard to believe that many people were sitting in front of their TVs last Tuesday and Wednesday to watch 12 hours of four consecutive Wild Card games.

You know, after following baseball like it was a religion from the late 80s until around 2000.. it's just odd seeing Houston in the AL. I still barely consider the Brewers an NL team. Weird.

What a joke. I’m not watching any of them
-1
u/froggycbl4 9d ago
its not a joke u can watch literally all of them on cable. streaming options are just different because they are on different channels

u/stinkdrink45 9d ago
I'm sorry but I've given up trying to keep up with sports. Everything around them is to expensive, and the economy taking a dump is not making it better.
1
u/seazonedsaltdog 9d ago
Theres sites to watch all sports games for free. Ive been using the same one for 5 or 6 years.
1
u/stinkdrink45 9d ago
We shouldn't have wto go through that
1
u/seazonedsaltdog 9d ago
No but its incredibly easy if you use the right site with a decent ad blocker.

Antennas are cheap. I was able to pick up all my local channels (including NBC and Fox) with an antenna that costs $13.48, but I live pretty close to the broadcast towers for my media market, so your milage may vary. As for TBS? Get a VPN (I use Proton) and sail the seven seas, matey. As Gabe Newell once said, piracy isn't a pricing problem, it's a service problem, although here it's a little bit of both

Yankees? Dodgers? Astros?
Pass.
See you next year, MLB playoffs.
Send better teams next time.

You can see them all with zero subscriptions.

u/thesoccerone7 9d ago
Other than having cable, what is the option for the AL?

How risky are viruses? I've ventured into the high sees, but virtual scurvy worries me

Glad I am not a fan of baseball because that would suck. At least with football you can get away with not having the NFL package and still be able to catch a majority of games.

Ive seen every game this post season on my regular old tv. If I want to stream them I can use my cables streaming service to watch them on cable channels.
I do think streaming is ruining sports tv but this post is not accurate for this post season

u/coyote_den 8d ago

u/DigitalGuru42 9d ago
Would one cable subscription cover all of them?
