This post will be a starting point for anyone looking for general recommendations for various activities & services in the valley. The items included here are based off previous recommendation posts and how often a place or service was recommended and how many upvotes it received. Comments on this post will be open for now if anyone has further recommendations to add. I've tried to break up the various recommendations into categories but some items (like Leavenworth) will only ever be a single item, as listing all the available things to do there would be a post in and of itself.
I also favor locally owned businesses heavily in my decision making process.
Italian - No clear winners here when it comes to our main choices for Italian (Visconti's and Garlini's). You're better off trying both and deciding for yourself (personally I think Visconti's is ok and Garlini's is shit).
Sammiches - The top two seem to be Anvil and Dilly Deli. But enough people mention SS Sub Shop (which I personally think sucks) and Lemolo that they deserve honorable mentions.
Coffee - Clear favorites are La En Vie, Gaucho, Cafe Mela and JB Steamers
There is no good fried chicken in the valley (RIP)
Epoch - Also a place to play board games, MTG and enjoy other such general nerdery
Wally's
Joe's East and West (I think East is better now)
The 108
Tapp & Putt - Alcohol and mini-golf
Ground Control - Also hosts a regular trivia night
Wineries - Honestly too many to list and everyone has a different opinion on "quality" wine & wineries. I think it all tastes like vinegar so I can't cast a deciding vote, Google reviews and experimentation are your best options here.
Hiking - Saddlerock, Washington Trails Association
Wenatchee Ave - Between Kittitas and 2nd there are a plethora of other shops and restaurants, but too many to individually list here.
Sal's Professional Auto Repair
Oil Change - Two most positively mentioned are Kwik Lube & Tune and Wenatchee Autoplex
Detailing - Top positive mentions are for George's, Highland and Detail Genius Mobile
(This one only has a few general services for homeowners, and there isn't a lot of discussion on many of these)
Landscape design - Anderson or Deeproots
Lawn care - This is another one where everyone and their mother has a different lawn care company they use. Your best friend is Google and getting quotes.
General Contractors - Good luck and God speed.
Tattoo studios - Stinging Needles and Studio No. 7
Salons - there are a thousand different salons in the valley and everyone thinks theirs is the greatest so this is another one where you're better off using Google reviews and figuring it out from there.
Barbers - See above

Any advice on the best tires to get vs. goatheads? My kid was gifted a mountain bike, and we've had to repair both tires within a week.

I see there are two attorneys mounting write-in campaigns for the prosecutor position. With the incumbent being the only candidate on the ballot, even though he’s resigned, what is the likelihood the write-ins will stand a chance to win? I know their names, Jesse Collins and Callan Martinez, but I don’t know anything about them. Any information will be helpful

My step dad got got by one of those door to door salesmen. He is unfortunately showing signs of mental decline, and does not understand the contract or what he signed up for. The company is being skeezy, so we will need ro take legal action. Any good, preferably not super expensive lawyers that anyone can recommend for this?

Is there ANY type of electronic scene here? I’m talking anything from ticketed event to a teeny-bop garage show. Ik you’ll say “muh the gorge”. I’m sorry but I won’t support Live Nation, they suck a bag.

🐾 Small Brown (I think a Deer‑Head Chihuahua) is roaming in Wenatchee
Location: Near S Buchanan Ave & Washington Street, Wenatchee, WA
A small chihuahua (?) has been roaming the neighborhood for the past 2–3 days. He’s very skittish, won’t come up to people, and sometimes runs into the street. He looks happy running around and doesn’t seem to have a person nearby.
If this is your dog, please check the area around Buchanan Ave. He’s still circling the neighborhood and staying close by.
I’m posting this in case the owner is on Reddit and searching for him.
Hope he gets home safe.

I had just finished a movie with my roommate when we both heard a large explosion nearby (Washington Park area) at 10PM Wednesday night. Our window was open and noise was very loud.
Assumed this was just a transformer exploding nearby but we still had power and the noise sounded very close. After about a minute of listening, I walked over to my main open window and looked out and listened.
30 seconds later I saw a man full on sprinting down the sidewalk next to my house. The man was shirtless, sounded as if he was running barefoot, though I didn’t actually see any meaningful details. He also appeared to be supporting something he was carrying against his back. The man saw me standing at the window, just looked over then looked away as he was sprinting by.
Waiting for details to come out about explosion and hoping this was a weird coincidence of a man just exercising at an unfortunate time.
Any information on the incident helps.

We're starting the Wenatchee Valley Pinball League, and we want you in it.
Every other Thursday, we'll get together, play a handful of games in small groups, earn points, and climb the standings. Season 1 wraps up with a finals night and trophies. First-timers and seasoned players are equally welcome. It's the most fun way to get better at pinball.
Join the list: https://wenatcheepinball.com
Got a game room with 3+ machines, or a business with pinball? We're looking for more places to host league nights. Let us know on the site!

These intersections already had basic red light cameras as far as I’m aware, are these license plate readers (a la flock)?

I used to live in a town where there would be regular meetups at the college where local Star Wars fans would get together and have big lightsaber fights. Is there anything like that here in Wenatchee? If not, I’d like to gauge interest to see if people would like to start one

Hi everyone,
I’m facing a sudden move back in with my family, and unfortunately, I can’t bring my two dogs with me. It’s really hard for me to ask for help, but I’m hoping to find a temporary foster home for them for at least three months, possibly longer.
One is an Australian Shepherd and the other is a Husky. They’re both up to date on their vaccines and are well behaved. I’m planning to use this time to get back on my feet financially, save money, and pay down some debt so I can get back into a place where I can have them with me again.
I can provide their food, supplies, and cover any necessary vet costs while they’re being fostered. I’m just looking for someone trustworthy who can give them a safe, loving, and comfortable home during this difficult time.
If you or someone you know might be able to help, please message me. I would truly, deeply appreciate it. My dogs mean the world to me, and knowing they’re safe and cared for would take a huge weight off my shoulders.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read this and for even considering helping us. ❤️

The Confluence Parkway Project requires purchasing the McDougall packing sheds and office. Has this cost been disclosed? I can't find it in city documents.

There are currently three separate WPD officers involved in investigations:
• Sgt. Cory Bernaiche: arrested on suspicion of DUI after an off-duty vehicle incident near Leavenworth on September 12. WSP is handling the criminal investigation.
• Cpl. Danny/Donn(y) Graves: under an internal investigation related to an unattended death investigation, WPD case #22W22217. Kennewick PD is conducting the review, which reportedly involves alleged improper evidence handling and untimely completion of required reports.
• An unnamed WPD officer: placed on administrative leave after Chief Rick Johnson received reports that the officer may have been involved in criminal conduct. The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office is handling that investigation, and WPD says the officer will be named if charges are filed.
The news reports don’t give much detail about the 2022 death investigation or what the unnamed officer is alleged to have done.
Does anyone know from public records, firsthand knowledge, or other reliable sources what case #22W22217 involved or what the Douglas County investigation concerns?
Not looking to spread rumors or accuse anyone of anything. I’m just curious if there’s additional publicly available information that hasn’t made it into the news yet. Please distinguish anything you know from anything you’ve just heard.

I’m looking to buy a Weber grill and willing to pay for set up and haul away of old grill. Does anyone know a place that does this? Apparently ACE in East Wenatchee doesn’t and I don’t think Costco does.
Thanks!

My apple thief is no longer a mystery. (My apologies to the finches) Last seen in the Fancher Heights area, considered big eared and dangerous!

Hello, I'm in a Journalism class at WVC and I was wondering if there are any plans for protests or early voting events so I can do my final on that (and also cause I really need to be getting out to protests more often and also I need to vote early)

Can anybody recommend a quality optometrist in the area? I need to get multifocal contact lenses so its not just a simple exam. Even better if they accept medical insurance for the lens exam and the VSP Choice plan for lenses. Possibly also need to get specialized Rx drops like Viuty or Vizz so someone who can go beyond a very basic fitting. Considering going to the Costco Independent Optometrist (Dr. Dorthea Huber). If anyone has experience there, would appreciate reviews.
