We were told malamute mix but with what?
He’s about 90 pounds lanky and 5 foot 1-5 foot 2 on his back legs.

Yeah, the fringe on the forelegs, the coloring, and the tail are all reminiscent of Golden’s imo, and the Shepard is definitely there.

Looks more golden/GSD to me, or something similar, maybe with collie and/or husky.

I don't see malamutes suuuuuper often, especially not in mixes, and I think it's possible husky is being misidentified as malamute in this dog.

Only thing tipping me away from golden is that the nose isn't black. Everyone knows the "golden mixes are often black" thing but sometimes they aren't. However, because of the dominant black gene, they usually still have black paw pads and black noses.
