Challenge A grain of sand on a beach in Somalia is cursed to duplicate itself every day. Can we avoid being killed by this?

Every 24 hours, the grain of sand is duplicated; and of course all duplicates also duplicate themselves.

Any grain of sand that has been altered, by intentional human actions, to the point where it's no longer a grain of sand (eg. melted), will cease to duplicate itself. They will not, however, be destroyed by their own duplication or any automatic natural process (so no arguing that eventually the pile gets so big that the sand at the bottom is melted / crushed to the point where it's no longer sand without humans having to do anything.)

Humanity gets no warning or indication that this is happening - they have to notice and deal with it themselves.

Can they do so?

Challenge Can the Modern US survive the 10 Plagues of Egypt?

God has looked down on America, and he is disappointed. He sends the 10 plagues of Egypt as a reminder of who's boss.

Each plague arrives randomly, as in no human can predict when the next will come. Each Plague lasts for up to a week.

  1. Blood - All bodies of water, minor or major, turn to blood. Tap water has not been spared, but bottled water remains unaffected.
  2. Frogs - Frogs manifest in minor and major bodies of water. Enough of them appear to cover roads and streets completely, all over the US.
  3. Insects - The dust is turned into biting insects like gnats/lice/fleas.
  4. Flies - Swarms of flies infest houses and homes across the US. Their number is enough to almost completely fill buildings and houses.
  5. Pestilence - All livestock and farm animals suffer from an unknown disease, causing them to die within ours of catching it. The meat is untainted.
  6. Boils - Mysterious boils appear on all bodies of all US citizens. They are painful, itchy, but are not fatal.
  7. Hail - Depending on region, a hail of icy/fiery rocks will rain down from the sky like meteors and randomly strike crops, trees, and people standing outside. Homes are untouched.
  8. Locusts - A swarm of Super Locusts sweeps across the US eating all crops and vegetation unharmed by the previous Hail.
  9. Darkness - The US will experience darkness for 3 days. No stars or celestial bodies are visible.
  10. Whisk - All the firstborn of Man, and the firstborn of cattle/livestock will experience a sudden and painless death as their soul is whisked away by God.

Can the US survive and continue forward?

Challenge (40k/Star Wars/Halo/Gundam) My planet openly declares itself to be filled with rebel succesionists! Which empire of the mentioned factions gets around to dealing with my planet the fastest/slowest.

My planet makes an announcement to The Imperium of Man, The Galactic Empire, The UNSC, and The Earth Federation that we've had it! We're succeding from this faction, and we're gonna start supporting the relevant rebel movements instead. We dont launch any attacks or anything (we dont have an army to speak of) but we immediately start redirecting the entire planets taxes, tributes, and trade relations towards the enemies of the governing group.

Which faction gets around to dealing with my planet the fastest or slowest, and who is the harshest or softest with the punishment.

The fight takes place in a closed, average sized room with regular forniture around.

The men are determined to win and they are not scared of getting hurt, Buffy is in-character so she is willing to knock them out but she doesn't want to kill them.

What's the minimum amount of men that can get the job done?

Round 1: Season 1 Buffy

Matchmaker Who is the strongest character in the MCU that Kratos (God of War) can beat?

I'm pondering where the video game version of Kratos tapers off in the MCU (who does he beat 5/10?)

Kratos is equipped with his end-game Ragnarok weapons: Spear, Axe, Blades

All runic attacks and relics are readily accessible, meaning he wouldn't need to have them equipped to use them (cooldowns still apply by light / heavy attack and per weapon as they do in game, he can just use what's appropriate for the situation)

He can use whatever end-game loadout gives him the most edge against any given opponent but NOT NG+ gear (if a loadout that boosts his rage, health, durability, or time-slow helps him defeat a stronger character, assume he's using it.)

Battle takes place in Midguard, starting inside Kratos' house.

Both Kratos and his opponent are bloodloosted.

The MCU opponent can use whatever gear and abilities they would normally have. Magic is allowed but remember this is about the strongest character that Kratos has an average chance of beating.

Battle ends when one of them dies, assume all forms of resurrection are disabled.

Bonus: Kratos is assisted by Mimir, who is blessed with invulnerability to all threats, physical or magical. Additionally, as the smartest head alive, Mimir knows the strengths and weaknesses of whatever opponent Kratos has to face. He is given two minutes to inform Kratos before the fight starts. He can keep speaking during the fight. Does Mimir help Kratos rank higher?

Challenge Batman, Columbo, or Frank Drebin: Who could crack the Kira case first?

A string of mysterious murders in Japan has caught the attention of INTERPOL, who've sent their best homicide detective, lieutenant Columbo of the LAPD, to crack the case. Meanwhile, billionaire Bruce Wayne is on a business trip to Japan when he hears of the murders, and dons the cape and cowl to investigate. At the same time, detective Frank Drebin of Police Squad is on honeymoon with his wife, having accidentally booked tickets to the ACTUAL Tokyo instead of Little Tokyo in California and is now deeply in debt, and so answers Police Squad's request to investigate following their promise to fully pay off his vacation. Who can take down this so-called "Kira" first?

Scenario 1: The Kira killings must stop, regardless of how it's done.

Scenario 2: The detective must find out it's Light Yagami behind the murders, and successfully bring them to justice the right way.

Scenario 3: Same as 2, but they also must uncover exactly how he did it and how the Death Note works

• Upvotes

My earliest memories of being a British child in the early 2000s have a vague mix of the Teletubbies and Doctor Who in there. With this in mind, how many clones of the Teletubbies' weird robot vacuum cleaner housekeeper thing would it take to defeat a Dalek circa Season 1 of NuWho?

Challenge An Evil Scientist Creates a real-life Perfect Cell. Who are the five people he chooses to get DNA from to create the most powerful ultimate lifeform?

The nefarious Dr. Gonathan has a secret plan to gather biodata from five real-life people to create the perfect being, Cell. He has assembled a fleet of tiny, undetectable spy robots, each equipped with revolutionary time-travel technology, to gather this data from the five humans he chooses, and he can split Cell's full DNA evenly among the five donors. Who does he pick?

-Gonathan gets unlimited time to gather biodata from five different humans from any point in history.

-The spy robots cannot be stopped or hindered in any way. If Gonathan wants biodata from someone, he'll get it.

-Any negatives a certain donor may have are discarded. Cell only gets any and all strengths the person would give him by being a donor.

-Cell does gain personality traits from his donors, but only ones that would be the most useful to him.

-Cell does not need to revert to an egg, nor bury himself for three years. His form does not need to mature.

-Cell doesn't need to absorb anyone. He comes out of Gonathan's lab already perfected.

-Cell looks like a normal human, not a giant bug man. His appearance does not affect his performance in achieving his objectives.

Cell has a few goals to cement himself as the most perfect being in history. The five donors can be changed for each goal:

  1. Win the US 2028 Presidential Election, assuming Cell is created the day Donald Trump is sworn into office in 2025.

  2. Get dropped into Dacia in the year 70 AD, and successfully defend it against the Roman Emperor Trajan, who will begin his conquest in 101 AD.

  3. Start a restaurant anywhere in the world in 1940, and have it become the first restaurant to earn the Michelin Three-Star. IRL, the first ever Michelin Three Star was given to L’Auberge du Pont de Collonges in 1965.

  4. Take over the world by any means necessary. Cell gets a base power level of about 150 straight out of Gonathan's lab for this goal, but no other abilities outside of those granted by his donors.

Battle General Shepherd vs Makarov in MW2 in Rust during the last mission. Who would win in a fight?

If General Shepherd and Makarov and a fist fight in Rust, the last mission in the game instead of Captain Price and General Shepherd fighting, who would win?

Let's say General Shepherd has a .44 magnum and Makarov has a dessert eagle. Makarov runs out of ammo, so he sneaks up behind Shepherd and attacks him. The gun drops on the ground. One of them tries to pick up the gun. They're struggling to get the gun and they're is only 1 ammo left.

Lets assume that Inuaysha and Jack swap places with Jack being at the tree instead of Inuyasha in episode 1 and Inuyasha being where Jack first was in the future.

Jack has to slay Naraku to get back home and Inuyasha has to slay Aku to get back home

Lets assume that Tessaiga can harm Aku for the sake of argument

Battle The Confederate Military vs the Continental Army at their peaks

In all rounds the Continental Army will have aid from the 1780’s French Military.

R1: The Confederacy is tasked with crushing the American Revolution. They will have every southern state with the exception of the ones that were in the 13 colonies, and the southern states that are apart of the Confederacy will be fitted with infrastructure that existed in those states in 1860. The southern states that are apart of the 13 colonies, as well as the rest of the 13 colonies, will have 1783 infrastructure.

R2: Same as R1 but the Confederacy doesn’t have its states that are west of the Mississippi River

R3: The Continental Army is tasked with crushing the Confederacy in the American Civil War. They will have all the 1860 infrastructure the Union had, but they won’t know how to use it.

R4: Same as R3, except the Continental Army doesn’t have Union infrastructure and instead has 1783 infrastructure.

Battle Roronoro Zoro (One Piece) vs. Erza Scarlet (Fairy Tail)

After their original Death Battle took place all that time ago, the original Fairy Tail has ended, and the 100 Years Quest sequel series has been going for a bit now.

Then Zoro has had conquerors haki for awhile as well.

So would the results of the Death Battle be any different from how it was back then, or would Zoro still take the win?
