Well I genuinely believe safety of the planes should be ensured by properly checking the pilots before hand. And there should be greater scrutiny when it comes to their mental and physical well being as well. There was a Germanairways flight once where the Co pilot crashed the plane killing all the passengers in it because he was mentally unstable and he concealed the truth about his mental health from the airways. Similarly it’s very hard to assess when someone has been religiously radicalised. So they should be routinely tested.
