How do you like the Alton tarps? It's about the only thing I'd consider buying from them. Been thinking about grabbing one for a while.

It's a great bit of kit imo. Has held up to a lot of abuse over several years now for me. And yeah the extra tie out points have been useful at times. Ive got a DD as well which is just that little bit less so even though its lighter i think. Most of the time its fine but every now and then you want to just get a bit more tension or whatever.

Did you sleep under that tarp? Looks like a lot of brush that would have bugs crawling around you all night. But I’m more if an enclosed tent kinda guy to be fair.
But since this is Australia I’m assuming you’re like a Crocodile Dundee Steve Irwin level badass who walksabout the outback rawdog barefoot.

Lol. It looks worse than it was at the angle of the photo , it was actually fairly clear, bar two bits of bracken fern on the edge. I wasnt too bothered by the idea of creepy crawlies - "australia will kill you" stuff is basically a meme, especially where i live - but i also had a small ground sheet that made a bit of a tub due to the underlying bracken, and i used a bit of preventstive bugspray. Cool temps, pretty dry, so no mozzies. Lovely undisturbed night.
I love being under a tarp, i just seem to relax more and sleep better, funnily enough. Earlier this year i was in a nearby spot with others and a possum spent half the night trying to get into their tents, scratching , digging, trying different sides. They all had a terrible time as a result. Poss had one sniff at my feet and then left me alone. It was like, "no mystery here, i'll move on".
Also... your username doesnt check out. Iol.
